Barça defeated Oviedo (3-0) in matchday 21 of LaLiga, achieving their seventh rout in the tournament and their tenth of the season across all competitions
The victory of FC Barcelona against Real Oviedo (3-0) was the seventh thrashing for the team led by Hansi Flick in LaLiga EA Sports 2025-26. The Catalans maintained their lead on matchday 21 thanks to goals scored by Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, against an Asturian side that remains at the bottom of the table.
Previously, Barça also defeated **Mallorca** (0-3), **Valencia** (6-0), **Getafe** (3-0), **Celta** (2-4), **Athletic** (4-0), and **Betis** (3-5), scoring a minimum of three goals per match, with the 6-0 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium against the 'ché' team being the most resounding victory so far this season.
In LaLiga 24/25, **Barça won 28 matches, 14 of them by a landslide**. This season, there have been 7 comfortable victories in 21 matchdays where the team has accumulated 17 wins and **a goal average of 2.71**, very similar to the first 21 matchdays of last season in the same number of games (2.80 goals per game).
Barça extends its second-best streak of games with a goal in La Liga
Furthermore, the thrashing against Oviedo marked Barcelona's 41st consecutive match scoring at least one goal in LaLiga. Since Hansi Flick's arrival on the Barça bench, the Catalans have only failed to score in two league games in 2024, against **Real Sociedad** (1-0) and **Leganés** (0-1)
The defeat at Montjuïc against the Madrid team took place on December 15, 2024. Since then, there have been 41 consecutive league matches with a goal, making this the second-best streak in the club's history. The record remains 64 matchdays (2012-13), with Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova at the helm of the Blaugrana team.
Previously, between 2018 and 2019, Ernesto Valverde's Barça accumulated 37 league matches with goals, while the 64 matches between 2012 and 2013 are an absolute record for Spanish football. Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid boasts the second-best streak, with 54 matchdays scoring between 2016 and 2017, meaning Flick's Barça is 14 games away from breaking that record
At this point last season, Barça had scored 59 goals in 21 matchdays, two more than in 25/26 (57). Across all competitions, the team had scored 101 goals in 32 games, while this season they have 87 in the same number of matches.
The main difference is in the Champions League, where the Barcelona team scored **18 goals in the first 7 league matchdays, 8 fewer than in 24/25 (26)**. In the Copa del Rey, there was also a drop of 5 goals in the first two rounds (round of 32 and round of 16) compared to the previous campaign (9 and 4 goals, respectively)
