Real Madrid maintains a perfect record in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 after six matchdays. On Tuesday, Xabi Alonso's team thrashed Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia (1-4) in a match that, after halftime, almost became complicated for the 'merengues'. The team has 18 points and, whatever happens between Real Oviedo and FC Barcelona on Thursday, they will maintain the lead for another matchday.

The match started with the 'granota' team very lively in attack. Iván Romero was very close to opening the scoring in the 4th minute, but his shot went wide after benefiting from a poor clearance by Arda Güler. Eight minutes later, Adrián de la Fuente missed a header after a corner from the right.

An inspired Vinicius gave Real Madrid the lead before halftime

Real Madrid players celebrate one of their goals against Levante (1-4)

It took Madrid almost 20 minutes to get a foothold in the match, but the inspiration of Vinicius Jr., usually disconnected in recent matches, opened the way to victory for the 'merengues'. The Brazilian warned with a shot deflected by goalkeeper Ryan, and the rebound ended in another shot by Franco Mastantuono against the post.

In the 28th minute, however, the action that broke the deadlock would arrive. Vini received a pass from Fede Valverde entering the area from the right. Despite being guarded and with little angle to shoot, the '7' resolved with a shot with three fingers, leaving Ryan without a reaction.

Ten minutes later, the Brazilian led a lethal Madrid counter-attack to filter a pass that left Mastantuono one-on-one. The Argentine finished very well, with a shot to the corner to celebrate his first official goal in LaLiga. In 38 minutes, Madrid put Levante against the ropes, 0-2.

Kylian Mbappé extinguished Levante's reaction in the second half

After halftime, Levante was encouraged to attack Real Madrid again and created many problems in the white defense. In the 54th minute, a very dangerous arrival of the locals from the right ended in a shot by Iván Romero deflected by Dean Huijsen. The ball took a strange effect, rising towards the goal.

This surprised Thibaut Courtois, while Etta Eyong, much smarter, attacked the small area to anticipate the Belgian and push the ball into the goal. The discount made the 'granotas' pour onto the rival field, but another lethal counter-attack from Madrid exposed the Valencian defense in the 62nd minute.

Kylian Mbappé was looking for space to shoot a cross to the far post and, after a couple of cuts, was brought down by Elgezabal. This time, the foul was clear and the Frenchman was in charge of making the penalty effective, chipping his shot in front of Ryan.

To make matters worse, in the 66th minute, Arda Güler chipped another pass into space to facilitate 'Kiki's' gallop against a totally broken defense. Mbappé left Ryan stranded to shoot into an empty net, sealing his personal double and the 1-4 that extinguished any Levante reaction.

In the last 20 minutes, Xabi Alonso took the opportunity to give minutes again to Jude Bellingham, David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga. Rodrygo and Tchouaméni also entered, while Vinicius indulged in wasting a couple of clear opportunities.

In this way, Real Madrid maintains a perfect record in the League, with 18 points out of 18 possible. Next Saturday, the 'merengues' will have their first match of high difficulty in 25/26, visiting Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano (16:15 CEST). Levante, meanwhile, visits Getafe on the same Saturday, at 14:00.
