As planned, FC Barcelona will play their next LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 match as host at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc. The club has already put tickets for the match scheduled for Sunday, November 2, at 18:30 CEST, corresponding to matchday 11 of the tournament, on sale.
Elche visits Catalunya for the first time since the 2022/23 season and will do so in Montjuïc, as the club continues to work on obtaining the first occupancy license for phase 1B. Barça already has a license to reopen the Estadi with a capacity of 25,991 spectators, but prefers to wait for the conclusion of the Lateral to return to Les Corts.
The reasons why the Barça-Elche match will be played in Montjuïc
The opening of this area of the Barça temple will expand the capacity to 45,501 spectators, very similar to that available at Lluís Companys (50,000). In addition, with the Lateral stand enabled, it will be possible to play Champions League return matches at Camp Nou.
In that sense, the logical thing is to continue playing in Montjuïc until the City Council, LaLiga, and UEFA give the 'Ok' to the opening of the Spotify Camp Nou in its 1B phase. The Elche match will be the fifth of the season at the 'Magic Mountain', the third in La Liga after the victories against Real Sociedad and Girona (both by 2-1).
In the Champions League, the team also played their home games at Lluís Companys against PSG and Olympiacos. The club has already enabled the '2025/26 Season Pass' for the acquisition of season tickets, anticipating a stay at the Olympic Stadium, at least, until the end of November.
Tentative Dates for Return to Spotify Camp Nou
Understanding that there will be a break for national teams in November (from the 10th to the 21st), Barcelona is considering two tentative dates for the long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou. The first, Saturday, November 22, against Athletic Club for matchday 13 of LaLiga.
The match against the Bilbao team is scheduled for 16:15 CEST and its main attraction is the possible presence of Nico Williams. The '11', for the second summer market in a row, ruled out signing for Barça despite having negotiations well underway.
In the event that the first occupancy license for phase 1B is not available for the match against Athletic, it would be necessary to wait and see if everything is in order to return to Les Corts against Alavés. The match against the team from Vitoria does not yet have a confirmed date or time, but it will be played on the weekend of November 29-30.
Thus, we will have to wait at least another month to see Barça playing at Camp Nou again. Something that hasn't happened since May 2023, just before the start of the works.
