FC Barcelona was defeated in their visit to Real Madrid (2-1), in what was the third league match where the Azulgrana team could not count on Hansi Flick due to suspension. As happened in two matchdays of the 24/25 season, the Culés were unable to take the 3 points with Marcus Sorg on the bench.

Last season, Barça lost consecutive home games against Leganés (0-1) and Atlético (1-2), both matches played in Montjuïc. At the Santiago Bernabéu, the result was once again tight, but adverse to the interests of a team that suffered its second defeat in the League and the third of the 25/26 season.

In the post-match press conference, Sorg pointed out the keys to the defeat of a Barça that, although it evened out the match in the second half, lacked freshness in the transition and clear ideas when entering the opponent's area.

Marcus Sorg Laments Barça's Problems Creating Chances in El Clásico

For the German coach, the Azulgrana team committed "more mistakes than usual" in the first half and had problems creating one-on-one opportunities. The equalizing goal, scored by Fermín López, stemmed from a steal by Pedri and a good assist from Rashford to Fermín. The player from Huelva, however, made bad decisions in two other clear chances in the second half.

"We played with only two defenders to create more chances, but Real Madrid is good on the counterattack and we didn't create enough chances to score the second," Sorg commented at the end of the match.

In that sense, the coach lamented the absence of Robert Lewandowski, considering Barça's problems in creating danger in the final third of the field. "(Lewy) He is a real striker, a good finisher. We miss him. But it is normal to have injuries in football," argued Sorg, who also ruled out complaining about injuries or the referees.

> "LaLiga is long and we are not scared of the situation. There are 28 matches left"

Sorg Justifies Lamine Yamal's Weak Performance

On the other hand, the Barça assistant coach revealed the coaching staff's plan with Lamine Yamal. The idea was to give him more options to face one-on-one situations, but unfortunately the team was unable to generate too many chances on his side. In addition, Sorg recalled that the '10' has been dragging muscular problems that have prevented him from performing at his best in recent weeks.

"He was good, but the injury he had was significant and he needs more games to be at the highest level. We have to give him time and help him, all of us, to recover his best form," said Hansi Flick's first assistant.

Similarly, he warned that Real Madrid's plan to double-team the player from Mataró was ultimately effective. The match was clearly difficult for Lamine, with a Bernabéu crowd getting on his back every time he touched the ball.

> "Maybe the atmosphere of the Bernabéu affected him, he is also learning from everything it generates. He is very motivated and has played well, but it has not been an easy match"
