FC Barcelona already knows its schedule for the next LaLiga EA Sports season. The title defense in 2025/26, as planned, starts with three away matches, after the permission granted by the league to allow an extra month for the remodeling works of the Spotify Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick's team debuts against Mallorca and, subsequently, visits Levante and Rayo, this match just before the international break in September. The team will return to action on Saturday, September 13th or Sunday, September 14th against Valencia, being this the first official rival of Barça in their return to the Estadi.

The 'culés' will play the Joan Gamper Trophy against the Italian side Como at Camp Nou on August 10th, but this will be a friendly match considered as a pilot plan for the total reopening of the 'azulgrana' stronghold.

Against Valencia, however, three points will be at stake against a rival that, in its last visit to Catalonia, suffered a historic thrashing. The previous season, at Montjuïc, Barça crushed Carlos Corberán's team (7-1).

Barça has not fallen against Valencia at the Spotify Camp Nou since 2016

For the 'azulgrana' team, Valencia has ceased to be a major threat in recent seasons. The balance at Montjuïc was overwhelming: two victories in as many matches, with a balance of 11 goals in favor and 3 against.

In the last nine seasons, in fact, the 'ché' team could only rescue two draws (both 2-2) at the 'culé' stronghold, the last of them on matchday 14 of the 20/21 season. To see Valencia adding three points at Camp Nou, you have to go back ten seasons, to matchday 33 of the 15/16 season.

The team then managed by Pako Ayesterán won by the minimum against Luis Enrique's Barça (1-2) thanks to an own goal by Iván Rakitic and another goal by Santi Mina. Leo Messi scored for the Catalans, who despite the defeat managed to maintain the lead and stay with the championship.

Before the remodeling of the 'culé' temple, Valencia fell by the minimum in their last visit to Les Corts (1-0), in March 2023. Raphinha, with a header, scored the winning goal on matchday 24 for Xavi Hernández's Barça, who would finally lift that La Liga title (the 22/23).

Barça could play up to four matches at Camp Nou in September

Once the official LaLiga 25/26 calendar is confirmed, Barça knows that they will return to Camp Nou in mid-September. In addition to the match against Valencia, Hansi Flick's team could play three more matches at home that month.

For La Liga, the matches against Getafe and Real Sociedad are assured, corresponding to matchdays 5 and 7. Against the 'azulones', the match will be on September 20th or 21st, while against the 'donostiarras', the match will be the following weekend, on the 26th or 27th.

The other match will be in the Champions League. Pending the draw for the league phase, Barça must play the first or second match of the 36-team league at home. If UEFA schedules the 'azulgrana' debut at Les Corts, the Champions League anthem will sound again at the 'culé' temple on September 16th, 17th or 18th.

However, if Barça debuts away from home, they will play matchday 2 at Camp Nou, on September 30th (Tuesday) or October 1st (Wednesday). Considering that, in the previous season, the 'azulgrana' team debuted as a visitor against Monaco, it is likely that in 25/26 the club will start its journey in the competition as a local.

Everything will depend on the configuration of the draw to be held on August 29th in Switzerland. For now, UEFA has already started the inspection of the works at the Estadi to authorize its return to the top club competition in Europe.

FC Barcelona's home matches in September:

  1. Valencia (September 13-14), matchday 4 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025-26.
  2. To be defined (September 16-17-18), matchday 1 of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
  3. Getafe (September 20-21), matchday 5 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025-26.
  4. Real Sociedad (September 27-28), matchday 7 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025-26.
  5. To be defined (September 30), matchday 2 of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.*

*If the draw determines that Barça plays matchday 1 as a visitor.
