The IFFHS has chosen this Thursday to Leo Messi like the best playmaker of the world in 2016, in a distinction that the Argentinian star of the FC Barcelona has conquered for the second time and that, in the present edition, has done with a remarkable difference by in front of Andrés Iniesta and Toni Kroos, those who have completed the definite podium.

Leo Messi has taken out 106 points of distance to the classified second, Andrés Iniesta (66), and 127 to Toni Kroos (45), whereas in the statistics in question also find the Spanish David Silva (eleventh with 5 points) and Thiago Alcántara (fourteenth with a point).

The Barcelona, clear dominador of this prize

The distinction of better playmaker is an honour that the FC Barcelona harvests once after another from the year 2008, when Xavi Hernández won it four times, and Andrés Iniesta and Leo Messi two each one, with the only exception of Toni Kroos that broke the series in 2014.
