Official LaLiga statement on the future of Leo Messi

The communiqué was conclusive and very clear in his resolution. "In relation with the different interpretations (some of them contradictory between himself) published in the last days in distinct media, related with the contractual situation of the player Lionel Andrés Messi with the FC Barcelona, LaLiga considers convenient to clear that, once analysed the agreement of the player with his club", initiated, before giving the two keys.

In the first place, it remembers that, to terminate the agreement, has to credit the clause established (700 millions). "The agreement finds at present valid and has a 'clause of rescission' applicable to the supposed that Lionel Andrés Messi decided to urge the unilateral extinction anticipated of the same, effected according to the article 16 of the Royal decree 1006/1985, of 26 June, by which regulates the special labour relation of the professional sportsmen", prayed the communiqué.

Finally, LaLiga concluded that it will not give the federative drop of Leo Messi until the Argentinian do not deposit the pertinent payment of the clause of rescission. "In fulfillment of the applicable rule, and following the behaviour that corresponds in these suppositions, LaLiga will not effect the formality of previous visa of federative drop to the player if it has not credited previously the amount of said clause", sentenced.
