The Club León of Guanajuato (Mexico) will be the rival of the FC Barcelona in the Trophy Joan Gamper 2014, that will contest next Monday 18 August to the 20.30 hours in the Camp Nou. This will be the first time that the Mexican team, champion of the Closure 2013 and of the Opening 2014, contest the tournament of summer of the Barça. The Club León of Guanajuato was founded in the year 1944 and has won 7 Leagues and 5 Glasses of Mexico. Till lately it was the team of the ex Barcelona Rafa Márquez, that will receive a homage, and is directed by Gustavo Matosas.
The presence of Luis Enrique like new trainer of the Barcelona and of the new signings -Ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Claudio Bravo, Luis Suárez, Mathieu, Vermaelen, Rafinha and Masip- will be the main attractions of the Trophy Joan Gamper 2014. Besides, taking advantage of the dispute of the tournament, the Camp Nou will surrender a deserved homage to two symbols of the Barça that have left the team this summer, Carles Puyol and Víctor Valdés.
