FC Barcelona's 2025 preseason tour of Asia can be described, without exaggeration, as a resounding success. Beyond the economic benefit generated by the culé stage in Asian lands —estimated, as already reported, at around €15M for the three matches played—, the tour left very positive sensations at a footballing level.
And yes, Hansi Flick's team completed an immaculate tour, signing three victories in three matches:
- 1-3 against Vissel Kobe
- 3-7 against FC Seoul
- 0-5 against Daegu FC
In addition to the victories, the offensive performance was overwhelming: 15 goals in favor (an average of five per match) and only four goals conceded. A scoring rate that confirms the good form in which the Barça team has started this new season under the tutelage of the German coach.
Seven years later, Barcelona is back to having a perfect preseason
So effective was the FC Barcelona's 2025 preseason tour of Asia that the culés achieved a new record. According to the official metrics of the Barça club, the squad had not achieved a full of victories in a tour prior to the start of the season for seven years.
The last time the team from the Condal City achieved a full of victories in friendlies prior to the start of the season was in 2017, during the tour of the United States. On that occasion, the azulgranas defeated three rivals:
- 2-1 against Juventus
- 1-0 against Manchester United
- 3-2 against Real Madrid
Since then, although preseasons with good results were achieved, a full of victories was not achieved again.
Barça's preseasons from 2018 to 2024
- 2018: draw with Tottenham (2-2, victory on penalties), defeats against AS Roma (2-4) and AC Milan (1-0).
- 2019: victories against Vissel Kobe (0-2) and Naples (2-1 and 0-4), but defeat against Chelsea (1-2).
- 2020-2021: years marked by the pandemic, only local friendlies were played.
- 2022: victories against Inter Miami (0-6), Real Madrid (0-1) and the New York Red Bulls (0-2), but a draw against Juventus (2-2).
- 2023: they beat Madrid (3-0), but drew with Milan and Juventus (both 0-0) and lost against Arsenal (5-3).
- 2024: victory against Madrid (1-2), draw with Manchester City (2-2) and defeat on penalties against Milan (2-2).
Finally, in this 2025, FC Barcelona has managed to resume the path of a full of victories in a preseason tour. A fact that speaks very well of the first sensations of the season, where a well-oiled squad has been seen at an offensive level, with specific gaps in the defensive section.
Will the Catalan team manage to maintain its offensive efficiency and correct its mistakes at the back? Only the season will tell, but the starting point could not be better.
