Rout in Japan: FC Barcelona victory against Vissel Kobe

The Catalan team began its journey in Asia facing Vissel Kobe, a team that has had several former Barça players in its squad such as David Villa, Andrés Iniesta, Sergi Samper and Thomas Vermaelen. The match, played on July 27, represented the first victory of the tour: a 1-3 that left good feelings.

The score was opened by Eric García in the 33rd minute, although the locals equalized with a goal from Taisei Miyashiro in the 42nd minute. Already in the second half, Roony Bardghji broke the parity in the 77th minute and the young Pedro 'Dro' Fernández, debutant on the tour, signed the definitive 1-3 in the 87th minute. An encouraging start for the culé team.

Offensive festival in Seoul: seven blaugrana goals against FC Seoul

On July 31, the squad from the Condal City faced FC Seoul in a duel that started at a frenetic pace. In just 45 minutes, five goals fell: two from Lamine Yamal (14' and 45+3') and one from Robert Lewandowski (8') for the Catalan team, while the South Koreans discounted with goals from Cho Young-wook (26') and Yazan Al-Arab (45+1').

In the second half, with several changes in the starting eleven, Barcelona overwhelmed. Andreas Christensen (55'), Ferran Torres (74', 88') and Gavi (76') completed the task. The local discount from Jung Han-min (85') only served to decorate a result that ended 3-7. A spectacle in every way.

Five-goal haul in Daegu to close the Asian tour with a golden finish

On August 4, the culés played their last friendly match against Daegu FC, signing a resounding victory by 0-5. Gavi shone with a double (21', 45+2'), accompanied by goals from Lewandowski (27'), Toni Fernández (54') and Marcus Rashford (65'). The most remarkable thing was that the team did not concede goals, completing an ideal closure.

Goalscorers and debutants of Barcelona's preseason in Asia

Several players debuted with the blaugrana shirt during this tour. Among the incorporations, the goalkeeper Joan García, and the forwards Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji stood out. Young players from the youth academy such as Pedro 'Dro' Fernández, Toni Fernández and Guille Fernández also did so.

  1. Top scorer of the Asian tour: Gavi, with three goals.
  2. Followed by Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski and Ferran Torres with two goals each.
  3. With one goal each were Rashford, Bardghji, Christensen, Eric García, 'Dro' Fernández and 'Toni' Fernández.

  1. Top assist providers of the Asian tour: Dani Olmo and Gerard Martín, with two assists each.
  2. They are followed with one assist each by: Lamine Yamal, Jules Koundé, Eric García, Gavi, Jofre Torrents and Robert Lewandowski.

Positive sensations, but with pending tasks in defense

Despite the good overall performance, FC Barcelona showed specific defensive weaknesses. Several of the goals conceded originated from inattentions in the back line, which could be punished more severely by rivals of greater caliber.

Even so, the tour leaves as a balance an offense in great shape. As well as the rebirth of a footballer like Gavi, who looks totally tuned and is shown as a strong candidate to reinforce the culé midfield.

In addition, it was possible to appreciate the signings quickly integrated, with Joan García, leaving flashes of his quality with some stellar save, or Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji, who beyond the goals scored, left very interesting technical and mobility details, despite the little time of work under the tutelage of the German coach.

Likewise, we cannot ignore the work of a youth academy that continues to push hard. The 'Dro' Fernández, Toni Fernández and Jofre Torrents, regardless of being very young and having little experience in first division football, were able to stand up like veterans and leave great details of the Made in La Masia quality they possess. Without a doubt, Hansi Flick will have material to build, but also to correct.
