Important blow for Real Madrid heading into the start of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26. Xabi Alonso's team has received a setback from the Sole Judge of Competition, who has rejected the postponement of the match against CA Osasuna. This commitment, which will mark the league debut for both squads, will take place on August 19 at 9:00 PM at the Santiago Bernabéu.
It's worth remembering that the white team had requested to postpone this commitment against the rojillo team. The reason? That Real Madrid was one of the Spanish teams called to play in the Club World Cup, a tournament in which they participated until July 9, when they were dramatically eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals, falling by a resounding 4-0.
Due to this participation, the Merengues had to face a different schedule compared to most teams in the local championship. Understanding that the players of the Chamartín team were released from competition on July 10 and that LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 starts on August 19, there is a margin of exactly 40 days, from which the three weeks of vacation that, by law, are guaranteed to the players must be deducted. That is, 21 days less.
With this scenario, and taking into account that Madrid will return to training on August 4, the white team will have only 15 days of preparation heading into the league debut against CA Osasuna.
