The Real Madrid has once again written a new 'chapter' in its shameful and controversial 'war' with Spanish refereeing on Monday afternoon, issuing a scandalous statement in which they complained about the actions of the referees against them. Following the formal complaint from the Madrid team, Javier Tebas has used his social media to harshly criticize the white entity and Florentino Pérez.
"I was not surprised at all by the letter from Real Madrid, as it does not say anything different from what their television has been repeating for some time. Many of us advocate for a radical change in the refereeing system, moving closer to the English or German model, with a completely different organization and much more transparency in all structural decisions of Spanish refereeing," began the president of LaLiga through his 'X' account.
The Brutal Dart from Tebas to Florentino Pérez
"What is truly striking is that, in a LaLiga meeting on April 19, 2023, we debated and even voted on this change, and Real Madrid opposed it, showing lukewarmness and not proposing solutions. Could it have something to do with the fact that, at that time, the president of the RFEF was Rubiales and Florentino Pérez was a member of the RFEF Board of Directors?", the leader recalled.
"And mind you, the 'Negreira' case was already in court, and Real Madrid took weeks to appear. Why?", he continued, concluding with a 'poisoned dart' at Florentino Pérez by hinting at the corruption of the Madrid president. "By the way, when it comes to 'corrupt systems', few lessons can be given. And I am not referring to Real Madrid as an institution," Tebas concluded.
These statements from the president of the employers' association only add more 'fuel to the fire' in the open war between Florentino and the competition, as well as further igniting the controversy surrounding the refereeing situation in Spanish football. So far, Madrid has not responded to Tebas, but the position taken this February 3 indicates that the controversy has only just begun.
