Real Madrid is experiencing very complicated hours after its first defeat of the season in LaLiga. The thrashing conceded against Atlético de Madrid (5-2) has not only hit the mood of the dressing room and its coach, Xabi Alonso, but has left two new casualties in the defense: Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao.

Both footballers join a list of absences that already included Rüdiger and Mendy, leaving the white team with serious problems in the rear. The injuries, in addition, come at a critical moment of the season, with decisive Champions matches and the clásico against Barcelona on the horizon.

Carvajal, injury to the soleus and serious doubt for the clásico

The merengue captain has torn the soleus of his right leg and will be out for around four weeks. This makes him a serious doubt for the clásico on October 26 at the Bernabéu. The situation is even more serious considering that Trent Alexander-Arnold, the other right-back, was already injured since the first day of the Champions League and will not return until the end of October.

Carvajal was also not going to be able to play the Champions League match against Kairat Almaty, as he has a sanction for expulsion against Olympique de Marseille. However, his injury is a major problem for Xabi Alonso, who is left with practically no right-backs.

Militao, a blow to the ankle with a better prognosis

In the case of Eder Militao, initial tests have ruled out a serious injury. The Brazilian center-back suffered a strong blow to the ankle in the derby and was replaced at halftime. Although he will not travel to Kazakhstan, doctors are confident that he will be available for the next league match against Villarreal.

Even so, his absence in the Champions League forces Real Madrid to improvise in defense, with David Alaba as the only experienced top-level center-back available. Pressure is increasing on the Basque coach, who must react to prevent the sporting and dressing room crisis from prolonging before the great duel against Barça.
