FC Barcelona could soon receive a very interesting offer for Ferran Torres. The latest reports indicate the interest of Aston Villa in improving their initial offer for the player from Foios, for whom they would have offered 20 million euros the previous summer.

Barça hoped to receive at least 30 'kilos' for the 'Shark' at that time, who also rejected the idea of returning to England. This summer, however, the '7' of Barcelona has raised his market value to €40M, after closing the 24/25 season with 19 goals and 7 assists in 45 official matches.

In that sense, Unai Emery insists on signing the Spanish international, who would be a key reinforcement. For now, the Birmingham team only has Ollie Watkins as a centre forward. The Englishman, in the 24/25 season, scored a couple of goals less than Torres (17) in nine more matches than the Barça attacker (54).

Barça does not close the door to Ferran Torres, but...

Recently, English media assure that Aston Villa could offer 50 million net for the transfer of Ferran. The 25-year-old striker still has a contract for two more seasons and his release clause remains at €1,000M.

In addition, Hansi Flick is counting on him to replace Robert Lewandowski. Although the Pole will start the season as a starter, it is likely that the coach will again dose his minutes on the field, considering that he will turn 37 in August.

However, the need to raise funds with an important sale to amortize the signing of another left winger, undoubtedly, raises doubts for Barça about the profitability of closing the sale of the 'Shark' this year.

At the moment, his renewal has not been addressed, but in 2026 his contract must be reviewed, since 26/27 will be the last season of his current contract and the board does not want to assume this scenario with any of its key players.

Although the Valencian has never been an undisputed starter since his arrival in January 2022, he has 44 goals and 20 assists in 158 matches, being a very effective revulsive in attack. The club paid 55 'kilos' for his transfer, so an offer of €50M would be well received in the offices.

Ferran Torres only thinks about winning everything with Barça

Beyond the rumors about a possible transfer, Ferran makes it clear, every time he can, his intention to stay at Barça. The previous week, during the inauguration of a sports field that will bear his name in his native Foios, the '7' ruled out an offer that would take him away from the Barcelona team.

"Physically I am well and mentally even better. Waiting and wanting to join the team as soon as possible and hoping it will be a great year like the previous one. I see myself at Barça and I am going to stay. I am optimistic and I am going to fight to earn the starting position", he explained regarding his role in the squad.

In addition, he ruled out an extra favoritism towards the 'Culés' after his great previous season. "(Favorite) is a word that I don't like because when you are the favorite everyone wants to go for you. It is true that this year, except in the Champions League, we have won everything and that is a good challenge", the Valencian striker pointed out, in statements collected by 'Mundo Deportivo'.

Thus, the 'Shark' does not plan to negotiate his departure in the summer market, unless Barça forces his transfer. Will Aston Villa be able to close this signing?
