FC Barcelona has closed the transfer of Pablo Torre to Mallorca. The 22-year-old player, as planned, traveled this Monday to the Balearic city to sign his new contract, after being absent on Sunday from the medical examination with the Blaugrana team.

The agreement between the clubs was closed last week, as we announced in FCBN, for 5 million euros net. In addition, the 'culés' reserve 50% of his federative rights and a purchase option for 25 'kilos', along with the right of first refusal on future offers for the player from Soto de la Marina.

Mallorca, for its part, secures the signing of Pablo for the next four seasons, until June 2029. Although he had a contract with Barça for one more year, he was a fixed discard for Hansi Flick due to the 'overbooking' of offensive midfielders in the 'culé' squad.

Pablo Torre, excited to earn a starting spot in Mallorca

"I am very happy to be here. It is a project that excites me, I am coming to play", commented the midfielder upon landing in Palma. Pablo could not be more sincere about his expectations for this new stage of his sports career: he needs to have the confidence and continuity that, until now, he has lacked in his time in Catalonia.

In his two seasons with Barça and the year he was on loan at Girona, the Cantabrian has barely accumulated 56 official appearances, 27 of them with the Blaugrana team. Torre only played 9 times as a starter (4 with Xavi, 5 with Flick) and leaves with 5 goals and 4 assists in 759 minutes played.

Now, in Mallorca, the Racing de Santander youth player will fight for a place in Jagoba Arrasate's XI with players such as Antonio Sánchez and the experienced Dani Rodríguez. Although he is a natural attacking midfielder, Pablo can also play as an inside right or winger, although he does not have much overflow on the wing.

Barça closes a necessary sale with Pablo Torre

For Barça, the departure of Pablo means resolving an important issue this summer. Although his departure price was lower than his current market value (6 M€), the amount paid by Mallorca allows the Blaugrana team to recover its official investment for the Cantabrian (5 M€).

Beyond the fact that the total operation, including his salary and the variables included in the contract, results in a negative balance of around 2 M€, Barça manages to get rid of the bulk of the bonuses that Racing could receive for the midfielder.

In addition, looking to the future, the 'culés' hope to receive several extra millions, because if Torre establishes himself in Mallorca, it is likely that, in the medium term, he will end up leaving for another team for a price close to the 25 'kilos' of his clause.

The Balearic team comes from finishing the previous year in tenth position, after reaching the final of the Copa del Rey in 23/24. The club's objective is clear: to maintain the category without scares, trying to 'fish' for a ticket to European competitions.

With Pablo Torre in the team, Jagoba Arrasate's team adds a piece that can help them score many more goals, considering that their offense barely produced 35 goals last season (the third worst in the tournament, tied with Real Sociedad).
