FC Barcelona could soon receive an offer from Benfica for Pablo Torre. The team led by Bruno Lage is working on several incorporations for the summer market, once their participation in the Club World Cup 2025 concludes, and the latest information points to the player from Cantabria among their possible targets.
Sports portals such as 'Récord' assure that the 'eagles' will go for an attacking midfielder with Torre's characteristics, a player with a very interesting projection who, in addition, has an affordable value and salary. In 24/25, the '14' barely played 421 minutes spread over 14 games. Even so, he contributed 4 goals and 3 assists to Barça.
In Spain, a large number of clubs (including Girona, Sevilla, Valencia and Real Sociedad) are interested in the player from Cantabria, but for now there is no formal offer. Abroad, possible interests in Germany (Bayer Leverkusen) and Italy (Lazio) have also been mentioned, without forgetting the formal approach from Porto last January.
The price that Barça can ask for Pablo Torre
The player from Soto de la Marina signed until 2026 with a termination clause of 100 million euros. Understanding that Barça paid 6 'kilos' to Racing de Santander in 2022 for his transfer and that his market value is currently just 6 M€, the logical thing is that the 'culés' aim for a similar amount for his sale.
Entering his last year of contract, a loan with a purchase option would only be viable if Pablo renews before leaving. An option that does not seem to convince the midfielder. In case of negotiating a definitive transfer, Barça can negotiate a lower price (around 5 M€) retaining a percentage of his rights or a future sale.
However, the 22-year-old player will have the last word to decide whether or not to continue his career outside of Spain. In January, Porto tried to sign him in the last days of the winter market, but the coaching staff convinced him to stay. Unfortunately, Hansi Flick removed him from his rotation plan in the second half of the season.
Pablo Torre could not take advantage of the U-21 Euro with Spain
After concluding his participation with Spain in the U-21 European Championship, Pablo Torre will put all his attention on the market. Unfortunately for La Roja and the midfielder, the tournament in Slovakia was not positive at all.
On Saturday, the National Team was eliminated in the quarterfinals against England (1-3), a match where the Barça player entered for Mateo Joseph 20' from the end and could not contribute anything to avoid the fall of Santi Denia's team.
Pablo started the tournament as a starter, as did Gerard Martín. However, after two matches without notable contributions in attack, he was a substitute against Italians and Englishmen. Martín, on the other hand, left the concentration due to a hand injury.
Thus, Torre will continue to wait for an offer that allows him to change his scenery in 25/26 and find the necessary confidence and continuity to exploit his talent. Benfica seems like a good destination, although the Portuguese league is not within the five major leagues of the continent.
However, the team will play Champions League in 25/26 (they must play the previous phase) and next season will make an extra effort to break the dominance of Sporting CP in league and cup, after finishing with the runner-up this year in both tournaments.
