Saudi football is determined to try to become the focus of world football every time the transfer market opens. Al Nassr is about to acquire the services of French left winger Kingsley Coman, who was also on the radar of FC Barcelona.
According to recent reports, Bayern Munich has granted the player permission to travel and put his signature on the contract with his new team.
In principle, the player is expected to sign for three seasons (until 2028) with Al Nassr. The Bavarian team will receive a figure of around 30 million euros fixed for the 29-year-old striker, while another 5 'kilos' will be linked to a series of variables.
In this way, Coman, who had a contract until 2027, will be able to put an end to his time in the Bundesliga after a decade in the German giant, where he scored 73 goals and won 21 titles, including a UEFA Champions League (2019/20).
Al Nassr doesn't stop: Coman arrives to form a dream team
The incorporation of Coman will complement a team already full of stars. The Saudi team, which already had Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozovic and Sadio Mané, during this summer market also added Joao Félix and Iñigo Martínez, becoming one of the most powerful teams in the Middle East.
Similarly, the team whose main objective is the Asian Champions League (but which will not participate in this new season because it did not qualify) must win some competition, considering that in the last five seasons it has barely managed to win the Saudi Super Cup (2020/21).
Also, with Coman, Al Nassr will have greater imbalance on its wings. Bayern Munich's number '11' has great speed and, when injuries respect him, tends to be a decisive player.
Coman was in Barcelona's sights, but Rashford was chosen
Although Kingsley's file was on the table of Barça's sports management, both in the summer of 2024 and also during this summer market, the Catalan team opted for an option that, in principle, was more affordable.
Barça preferred to go for Marcus Rashford on loan, while, apparently, Bayern, to allow Coman to leave, was not willing to open the door through any other method than a transfer with a price like the one Al Nassr paid.
At that time, several Saudi football clubs were already sounding out the Frenchman, while he was waiting for a decisive move from one of them, and he will finally become a new teammate of former Barça players Joao Félix and Iñigo Martínez.
