Real Madrid has serious options to put Arda Güler on the market next summer. The Turk has not managed to settle in the team in his first two seasons and, despite Carlo Ancelotti's departure from the 'merengue' bench, a weighty factor seems to seal his departure from the 'Casa Blanca' this summer.

Madrid has closed an agreement with River Plate of Argentina for the transfer of Franco Mastantuono. The 17-year-old will arrive in Chamartín in exchange for 45 million euros and, being a footballer with similar characteristics (he is a natural right winger, but can also play as an inside midfielder or attacking midfielder), he will occupy the position theoretically reserved for Güler.

Arda Güler's signing for Madrid, a fiasco from start to finish

The Ankara native landed in the Spanish capital in 2023 in exchange for 20 net 'kilos' plus another 8 million extras in variables. Although it was a strategic signing, preventing FC Barcelona from closing a transfer that was almost done with Fenerbahce, sportingly the operation has been a real fiasco.

Arda was injured in his first season and only began to gain momentum in early 2024. In his second season, however, the signings of Kylian Mbappé and Endrick condemned him to ostracism.

In addition, Ancelotti's refusal to bet on the young players in the squad when injuries and the poor performance of his 'galácticos' hit the team ended up exhausting the patience of the Turk and his entourage.

With the signing of Mastantuono, his departure seems logical, since Xabi Alonso will have to put the Argentine on the right, yes or yes. In winter there was speculation about Güler's return to his country or a possible loan to Inter Milan, which, finally, did not materialize.

The Premier League, a possible escape route for Arda Güler

As for the summer market, the latest information about the Turkish midfielder points to the Premier League as a possible destination for the 20-year-old player. Arsenal and Manchester United have shown interest in the Ankara native, although the 'gunners' have already made their first formal offer.

In principle, the London club would offer 30 million net for Arda Güler. A reasonable figure, since the Fenerbahce youth player is still valued at around 45 'kilos' in Transfermarkt despite his limited role in Madrid.

In 24/25, the Turk played 45 games (only 18 as a starter) in which he scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists. Carlo Ancelotti only gave him continuity in the last month of competition, when Rodrygo Goes was removed from the team due to alleged physical problems. The Brazilian, in fact, is also on the ropes for next season.
