Ferran Torres' future seems to be further and further away from Saudi Arabia. It is worth remembering that El Tiburón was recently linked with a possible move to Middle Eastern football, from where, according to rumors, they intended to launch a dizzying offer in this summer transfer market.
The proposal, according to various sources, consisted of trying to convince the Valencian with a total amount of €60M for three seasons, that is, €20M for each one. In turn, from Saudi Arabia they were willing to settle the financial demands of FC Barcelona to facilitate his departure in this same market.
Ferran Torres does not want to move from Barcelona this summer
However, the possible departure of Ferran Torres in this summer market will not go beyond being a simple speculation. According to reports from SPORT, the 25-year-old striker —as his entourage has revealed— would have ruled out a change of scenery this summer, also denying that he has received any proposal from Saudi Arabia.
The aforementioned source suggests that, even if an offer arrives from Saudi Arabia or any other interested team, it would have very few chances of prospering. The player from Foios, with a contract with the Catalan team until June 30, 2027, is totally focused on continuing his adventure as a Blaugrana.
The '7' currently has only one objective in mind: to surpass his performance from the 2024/25 season, his best year to date as a player for the Barcelona team. It should be remembered that the Valencian has just scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 45 matches. He even finished the season as the top scorer of the 2024/25 Copa del Rey.
Flick sees him as a '9' and Ferran responds with goals
Ferran is still considered a valuable piece for the offensive front of Barcelona, especially in the center forward position. In fact, Hansi Flick has already started using him as a '9' during the preseason friendlies.
The former Valencia CF player saw minutes both against Vissel Kobe, starting and playing 45 minutes, and against FC Seoul, a team against which he played 45' and scored a double. A performance that only reinforces the idea that he is plugged in, 100% physically recovered and that he maintains his relationship with the goal intact, showing himself as a strong candidate to fight for the center forward position with Robert Lewandowski. Will he manage to fight for the starting '9' spot with the Warsaw native? Time will tell.
