Once again, the president of the National Center for Football Coaches (CENAFE), Miguel Galán, has launched harsh accusations that expose the top representative of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, and the controversial role he played in Nico Williams's failure to join FC Barcelona this summer.

Javier Tebas allegedly revealed confidential information about Barcelona

Galán, using his social networks (@MiguelGalanCNFE), revealed that Javier Tebas, in the meeting he held with Athletic Club at the time, disclosed confidential information about the Catalan team. Specifically:

"Information from the FC Barcelona's interim financial statements, allowing in situ verification that the profit and loss account did not reflect any amount related to the corporate operation of selling VIP seats."

Not only that. The president of CENAFE also highlights that Javier Tebas "explicitly informed about the reduction of the LCPD —Sports Staff Cost Limit— of FC Barcelona, and that this did not have any balance or registration capacity, in compliance with financial fair play."

Crowe's report and the distrust generated in Nico's environment

Finally, Tebas also showed Athletic Club "the limited review report signed by Crowe Auditores España S.L.". Very valuable information, which the Basque team allegedly later used to generate distrust in Nico Williams and his entourage.

Details that, as Miguel Galán acknowledges:

"Were overstated in order to generate concern in the player's family and try to convince them to include a release clause that lacked all logic."

The breakdown of the agreement between Nico Williams and FC Barcelona

An issue that ended up generating the first major discrepancy between the '17' of the 'Roja' and FC Barcelona. At the time, both parties seemed to have understood each other quite well, even reaching a personal agreement regarding their conditions to join the azulgrana team: a contract for six seasons (2031) and a salary of between €7 and €8 million net per year.

However, everything ended up collapsing precisely because of the distrust generated around this operation. The player's entourage requested conditions that Barça, firm in its stance, decided not to accept. This led to the Pamplona striker finally opting to renew his contract with the Basque team until 2035.

A move that has erased any option of Nico Williams joining FC Barcelona. And it has become clear that, in the end, both Athletic Club and Javier Tebas have gotten their way, to the detriment of a Catalan team that, far from being intimidated, has already begun to explore other equally stellar alternatives to reinforce its left wing.

Galán insinuates a pact between Tebas and Athletic to gain power in LaLiga

On another line of argument, Miguel Galán did not hesitate to make clear what, in his opinion, is the background behind the 'help' of Javier Tebas and LaLiga to Athletic Club. The president of CENAFE explained that this pact benefited both parties, pointing out the following:

"On the one hand, Tebas shares financial information from FC Barcelona to hinder the operation; on the other, Athletic Club joins the Delegate Commission, filling the vacancy of Leganés, in order to strengthen its position in it."

In turn, Galán warned that: "This pact is also aimed at facilitating Tebas's strategy in his confrontation with Real Madrid and Barcelona, thus maintaining greater control over the Delegate Commission."

Finally, he added about the case:

"The strange rapprochement of Uriarte —president of Athletic Club— to Javier Tebas, in a context where FC Barcelona seems to be a common enemy, is part of a strategy by the president of LaLiga to ally with Athletic and facilitate its entry into the Delegate Commission. In return, this would allow Tebas to maintain greater control over Joan Laporta, taking advantage of issues such as the Nico Williams case. And the possibility that Real Madrid will once again be excluded from this important control body is not ruled out."
