This Sunday (August 31st) FC Barcelona revealed on their social networks the squad to face Rayo Vallecano for the third matchday of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26, and as expected, Héctor Fort is not on the list.

The right-back is resolving his future, as the summer transfer market closes this September 1st (at 11:59 PM). The player already knows that he is not in Barça's plans and could end up at RCD Mallorca.

It should be noted that he has a spot with the Catalan team's reserve team, but Barça Atlètic will play the 2025/26 season in Segunda RFEF and Fort does not see himself playing in this category.

Coach Hansi Flick believes that he still needs to mature certain aspects of his game and this would be achieved through a loan, but not in Barcelona's first team, as he will not have opportunities.

‎Héctor Fort, the ideal replacement for Pablo Maffeo at Mallorca

In this sense, the team that has pushed the most and has not given up on its idea of acquiring the services of Barça's '32' is Mallorca. The 'vermilion' team wants the player no matter what.

The 'Mallorcan' team is apparently waiting to finalize the departure of who had been their starting right-back until the 24/25 season, Pablo Maffeo.

‎According to recent reports, the Argentine could go to Atlético Mineiro. As soon as this happens, Mallorca will make the final move for Héctor Fort, who would arrive on loan.

Also, the coach of the 'demonis' team, Jagoba Arrasate, would be in permanent contact with '32' to ensure his possible arrival, in addition to explaining the role he will have in his team.

He already used this method with other players such as Pablo Torre and Jan Virgili, who arrived at Son Moix from Barcelona. Now it remains to be seen if a third move between both clubs will take place.

Héctor Fort, on the radar of several clubs, but only Mallorca is negotiating seriously

In this order of ideas, although Mallorca is strongly pushing to finalize the loan of Héctor Fort, the full-back has aroused the interest of several European clubs throughout the transfer window.

Among the suitors are big names such as Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Ajax and West Ham, as well as more discreet approaches such as those from Paris FC and Como 1907. However, as is already known, as of today, the Balearic team is the only one that has taken firm steps to acquire his services.

Fort, with no place at Barça: Koundé and Eric close the door on him

Fort, so far, has not played minutes either against Mallorca for the league debut, or against Levante UD for the second matchday and will effectively not do so against Rayo either. Last season he only saw action for 638 minutes.

This is because both Jules Koundé and Eric García are the main competitors for the demarcation. The Frenchman and the player from Martorell are currently competing for the starting position.

Last season Jules was the undisputed starter until he suffered an injury in the final stretch of the season, which allowed '24' to show his hierarchy in the same position. For now, Eric has two consecutive starts, that is, against Mallorca and Levante.‎
