Liverpool's board is not planning to part with Luis Díaz this summer. Beyond FC Barcelona's growing interest in the Colombian winger and the imminent arrival of Florian Wirtz to the 'Red' team, coach Arne Slot prioritizes having the Barrancas native for his new offensive trident in 2025/26.

'Lucho', meanwhile, is waiting for a formal offer from Barça that, for the moment, is not arriving at the Merseyside offices. The '7' feels comfortable in England, but understands he may lose prominence after the arrival of the German star.

In addition, his salary is, by far, the lowest of the starting players at Liverpool (3.5 million euros net per year) and the club has no intention of renewing or improving his fee.

The doors of Anfield Road, for now, are closed to Luis Díaz

In that sense, the latest rumors indicate Liverpool's refusal to listen to offers for the 28-year-old forward. At least as far as proposals below 50 million euros are concerned. Although Wirtz will arrive to, in theory, occupy 'Lucho's' position in Arne Slot's scheme, the Dutch coach is counting on him for the next season.

In 24/25, Luis Díaz scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists in 50 matches (3,336 minutes) and was only a substitute in 12 opportunities. In fact, 'The Times' assures that Slot does not plan to send him to the bench with the arrival of the German 'crack'. On the contrary, the idea is to bring together the Bayer Leverkusen star with the 'coffee maker' and Mohamed Salah.

As alternatives on the bench would be Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and Harvey Elliot, while Darwin Núñez and Federico Chiesa would be fixed discards. In Barcelona, Luis would accompany the 'LRL' formed by Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski, with the Brazilian moving to the middle to play behind the '9' as a natural attacking midfielder.

Price of Luis Díaz: Liverpool does not yield to Barcelona's interest

In this regard, journalist Fabrizio Romano assured 'DAZN' that, although the South American winger is, for the moment, the option that Deco likes the most to reinforce the Blaugrana attack, the Merseyside team does not plan to lower the price of the '7'. First because he has a contract until 2027 and, second, because his market value continues to rise (70 'kilos').

"Liverpool is not going to accept the 40-45 million that has been read these days. They want more and there is also Al-Nassr. It is not going to be easy for Barça, but it remains an option," explained Romano. The option of Arabia, for the moment, seems totally discarded by 'Lucho', while the 'Reds' calculate his transfer at around €80M.

The Colombian will play the matches against Peru and Argentina, for the World Cup qualifiers, before going on vacation. Unless there is a surprise, his future will be a novel that will last all summer, since Barça will only fully enter into negotiations well into the month of July, once LaLiga returns to the 1:1 rule to sign without restrictions.
