Marcus Rashford could be the big beneficiary of the unexpected fiasco of the 'Nico Williams operation' for FC Barcelona. The Blaugrana team had the signing of the Basque winger well on track, but finally the player played with the culé interest to close a historic renewal with Athletic Club.

Beyond the rejection of the player from Pamplona, the Blaugrana board insists on incorporating another left winger and the Manchester United striker is, for now, the first option to reinforce the Blaugrana attack. Although Deco is more convinced by Luis Díaz, the conditions demanded by Liverpool for the Colombian international are difficult for Barça to achieve.

Rashford will not train with the United squad in the pre-season

In principle, the 'reds' have no intention of letting 'Lucho' go and would only accept a transfer for around 80 million euros. United, on the other hand, are asking for half for Rashford (40 'kilos'), although Barça prefers to negotiate a simple loan. The issue is that the English striker receives a high salary (20 M€) that the Catalans are not willing to assume.

However, for Manchester, Marcus' departure is an immediate priority. The squad starts pre-season this Monday at Carrington and, according to 'Daily Mail', coach Rúben Amorim will not call up any of his discards, including Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, as well as Jadon Sancho, Antony and Malacia.

In the case of the '10', his departure in the summer was already sentenced since, last January, he had to go to Aston Villa on loan for six months. The Birmingham team are also very interested in getting him back, but the winger prioritizes waiting for an offer from a Barça that also had him on their radar in winter, but finally the club ruled out making signings for the final stretch of 24/25.

Barça still has time and room for maneuver for Marcus Rashford

Unlike Nico Williams, who pressured Barça to close his transfer this week and demanded to include a release clause in his contract, the English winger understands that the Blaugrana team still has other urgent financial matters to attend to before resolving his possible signing.

In that sense, although Marcus would prioritize joining Barça's Asian tour to gain experience with the team, he is clear that he will probably have to wait until August for a culé offer. And it is that, in this case, time is an ally for the Catalans, since the urgency to resolve the player's departure passes into the hands of United.

The club knows that Rashford is not in Amorim's plans and his salary is a burden on their finances. Hence, the further the market progresses, the better conditions Barcelona will be able to negotiate for his loan.

The culés still have to resolve the renewals of Szczesny, Frenkie de Jong and Eric García, in addition to finalizing the departure of discards such as Iñaki Peña, Pablo Torre, Pau Víctor and Ter Stegen himself, without forgetting Andreas Christensen and Héctor Fort, two players with few options to stay.

After that, the return to the 1:1 rule is pending to leave all the renewed contracts resolved, along with the incorporation of Joan García. This may take several weeks, which means that Barça could well make incorporations in the final stretch of the summer market, in August.

Unless another club beats the Blaugrana, Rashford seems willing to do his part, even renewing with Manchester to readjust his salary. Whatever it takes to facilitate his arrival in Barcelona, the striker will not hesitate to do it.
