The future of Florian Wirtz seems to be becoming clearer. Everything indicates that the young German talent, 21 years old, will change scenery in the next summer market. Among the main candidates to acquire his signing were Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
However, according to journalist Santi Aouna in 'Footmercato', the Bavarian team would have taken a definitive advantage after reaching a verbal agreement with Florian Wirtz. While the agreement has not yet been formalized—neither the duration of the contract nor the salary has been closed—the Munich team would have taken a decisive step ahead of its competitors.
The dream of Bayern Munich: Wirtz and Musiala together
It is no secret that Wirtz has become the great desire of Bayern Munich. The sports general manager, Max Eberl, has expressed on more than one occasion his desire to bring Florian together with Jamal Musiala, recently renewed and considered the flagship of the future of the club and German football.
"We already saw it in the European Championship! We said then that Germany had returned and that we were delighted. I think the two have already shown together what they are capable of. With exceptional footballers, it is very simple: they can get along well! Because they simply have that game intelligence, that feeling, that understanding, each with their strengths. There is no doubt that they can play very, very well together," Max Eberl asserted in February.
In turn, the interest in the Pulheim native is not limited to Eberl. It also has the support of Uli Hoeneß, honorary president of Bayern Munich, who did not hide his enthusiasm in an interview granted to the German web portal 't-online.de': "If I can have a dream, then I would say that Florian Wirtz has to play at Bayern. If together with Jamal Musiala, perhaps at some point, Wirtz also plays at Bayern, then we can look to the future with even more peace of mind. He is, without a doubt, a player that we must not lose sight of," he commented.
The price set by Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz
Beyond desires, the great obstacle to closing the signing is the high cost of the operation. Florian Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 30, 2027, and his club is not willing to let him leave easily. At the time, Fernando Carro, general manager of 'Die Werkself', warned in statements to 'Radio MARCA' that the player will not leave for less than 150 million euros.
An amount that, although high, is justified by the performance of the attacking midfielder: Wirtz has accumulated this season 15 goals and 13 assists in 42 matches, being one of the most decisive players in Europe. A '10' with an important range of tools among which stand out:
- 📌 Versatility: He is an attacking midfielder, but he can also fall on both sides, either as a right or left winger.
- 📌 Creativity and technique: Wirtz is one of those classic 'playmakers', with great vision of the game and who usually generate great havoc in the last third of the rival's field, whether with some 'top' technical gesture, with a dribble or with an unexpected assist.
- 📌 Good relationship with the goal: The Pulheim native enjoys a very good shooting ability with both legs, in addition to being a natural goalscorer in the area, joining from the second line. Likewise, Wirtz is a player with a fairly high percentage of effectiveness in front of goal.
His market value, according to 'Transfermarkt', is currently 140 million euros, which confirms his status as one of the most sought-after jewels in international football. Despite the alleged favoritism of Bayern Munich, it is not ruled out that other major clubs will try to break into the operation.
