AC Milan will be one of the main protagonists of the summer market in Serie A. The 'rossoneri' team confirmed the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri to their bench, a coach with whom the club won the Italian league in 2011 and with a notable record in his two stages at the helm of Juventus.
After a forgettable season where they finished eighth in the league and without major titles (they only won the Italian Super Cup), the Lombard team seeks to rebuild its squad and there are several 'cracks' for whom the board has initiated contacts.
The latest information points to Milan's interest in Ronald Araujo. The FC Barcelona center-back renewed at the beginning of the year until 2029, but his continuity in Hansi Flick's team has been questioned after a semester in which he was a substitute in La Liga and the Champions League.
In total, Rivera's player played 25 matches (1,560 minutes), 17 of them as a starter, in which he added a couple of goals and assists. After the injury he suffered in the Copa América with Uruguay, it was more difficult than expected for the defender to return to his best physical shape.
Ronald Araujo's future, at risk due to the Club World Cup market?
In principle, Araujo's termination clause remains at 1,000 million euros, but his departure price drops considerably in the first ten days of the market. In that sense, during the transfer window for the Club World Cup, the 'charrúa' could negotiate his departure from Barça for 65 million euros.
Alternatively, during the next winter market, the center-back could leave for a minimum offer of 80 'kilos' and, in each market, the price will gradually increase by another 15 M€. In any case, the Uruguayan will have total control over his future and the azulgrana team will agree to negotiate with other teams only if Ronald gives the 'ok'.
Although the '4' failed to regain his starting position in the second half of 24/25, he is confident in returning in better physical shape in the summer to fight hand in hand for a place in the XI with Iñigo Martínez and Pau Cubarsí. After renewing until 2029, the center-back ratified his commitment to Barça, where he is a leader and third captain of the team, after Ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong.
Araujo already ruled out going to Italy in January: Will Milan be able to convince him?
Milan's offer is the second from an Italian club for Ronald Araujo, after Juventus' approach in January. The 'bianconeri' proposal, however, never had a positive response from Barça, since those from Turin intended to acquire the center-back for a price close to 35 million euros.
In the case of Milan, the proposal could be more economically attractive, but the absence of the 'rossoneri' in European competitions next season weighs heavily when trying to convince Araujo or any other 'crack'.
In fact, the current Milanese sports situation opens the door to several of its figures, including Rafael Leao, one of the wingers on Barça's radar. The Portuguese, however, lost weight in recent months due to his drop in performance and the insistence of those from San Siro in asking for around 100 million euros for his transfer.
