FC Barcelona has already made official the signing of the 19-year-old right winger, Roony Bardghji. The Swedish forward signed a contract with the Blaugrana team for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2029, thus becoming the second incorporation of the 'culé' team in this 2025/26 season, after the arrival of Joan García.

Although the Catalan team has not revealed the amount of the transfer disbursed for Bardghji, various sources agree that Barça would have closed the operation for a total of €2M, plus some variables. A 'bargain' price for one of the best young gems in the international sports scene.

For now, the right winger —who, as stated in Mundo Deportivo, will not have a first-team registration for now, but for Barça Atlètic— is already fully integrated into the dynamics of Hansi Flick's team. Even before his official presentation, he had already been seen passing the respective medical examinations with his teammates on the first day of preseason.

  • 📌THE DATA: In his time as a player for FC Copenhagen, Roony Bardghji scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 84 official matches.

Asian tour with Barça and opportunity to convince Flick

It is expected that Bardghji will carry out the 2025/26 preseason Asian tour with the aim of convincing Hansi Flick of his value as a fast, dribbling, technically well-endowed winger with goal-scoring ability. It will be a key test to see if he finally finds a place in the first team, with the intention of adding depth to a right wing where Lamine Yamal is the undisputed starter.

Roony Bardghji: A new Swedish talent to succeed at Barça?

Will Bardghji succeed as a 'culé'? Only time will tell. What does seem clear is that it is, at least, an exciting bet by FC Barcelona, for a player who already knew how to enchant the world a couple of seasons ago, when he ascended to the highest category of Copenhagen (2022), with just 17 years of age.

However, that meteoric rise was stopped after suffering, almost at the end of the 2023/24 season, a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, which kept him away from the playing fields for almost a year.

After returning to action after so long out, he showed that his quality remained intact and that he was ready to take a step forward in his professional career. Now, he will take the opportunity to become a Barça player, being the fourth Swedish footballer in history to wear the 'culé' jersey, after Zlatan Ibrahimović, Henrik Larsson and Patrick Andersson.
