FC Barcelona hopes to resolve the departure of Marc André ter Stegen as soon as possible. The 33-year-old goalkeeper has been relegated as the third option for the Barça goal after the signing of Joan García and the renewal of Wojciech Szczesny. Although the '1' has a contract until 2028, the Catalan will be the starter at the beginning of the 25/26 season and the Pole his substitute.

In that sense, the coaching staff has already made it clear to the captain that they will not count on him next season and, in fact, in the first training session of the summer he worked in the gym apart from the group, probably due to a physical discomfort. However, Ter Stegen does not see his departure clearly and feels upset with the club.

First, because beyond his injury in the 24/25 season (he was out for seven months), the German goalkeeper believes that he still has plenty of conditions to compete in the elite. In addition, Marc-André agreed to renew in 2023 deferring part of his salary for the last years of his contract.

Therefore, his emoluments reach 42 million euros in the remaining three seasons, at a rate of 14 'kilos' gross per year. Barça, however, hopes to resolve his transfer for around 10 M€ to get rid of this burden and be able to free up salary mass. For the moment, only Galatasaray and Monaco have shown real interest in signing him. How will this 'soap opera' end?
