The future of Rodrygo Goes is uncertain. He couldn't establish himself as a starter with Carlo Ancelotti, and it seems the situation won't change with Xabi Alonso. Therefore, Real Madrid wants to get rid of him, but a club with an appealing offer has not yet appeared. At least not close to the 'merengues' economic aspirations.

With Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappé, it is unlikely that the Paulista player will have a place in the starting eleven of the white team. Furthermore, the Brazilian is apparently not to the liking of the coach from Donostia; this was evident in the Club World Cup match against Red Bull Salzburg, where he preferred to use Federico Valverde further forward due to the absence of the French striker.

Rodrygo, in his last season, played 52 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 9 assists. In most of the matches, he came on from the substitutes' bench, and precisely his inconsistency in 24/25 is one of the significant factors regarding the lack of teams interested in him.

Tottenham has shown interest in Rodrygo, but has not made an offer

The 'Spurs' this season suffered the sensitive loss of one of their references, Heu-Min Son, who will now play for Los Angeles FC in the MLS and left an indelible mark on the London club. Due to his characteristics, Rodrygo can perfectly cover the vacancy left by the South Korean.

However, Tottenham has made an important addition such as Mohamed Kudus, coming from West Ham United, and in the previous season, they made an economic effort for striker Dominic Solanke, who arrived from AFC Bournemouth.

As things stand, the London team would have the opportunity to add Rodrygo as an attacking player, as long as Real Madrid agrees to negotiate a loan without a mandatory purchase option. The Spanish club will not accept less than 100 million euros for the '11', an unattainable figure for the 'Spurs'. In case of a loan, the English would have to assume 100% of his salary (6.2 M€).

Franco Mastantuono could relegate Rodrygo from his position

Another significant reason to rule out Rodrygo in 25/26 is Franco Mastantuono. Madrid paid 45 million euros for the Argentine player, which will be up to 60 'kilos' including the CPI and variables, so Xabi Alonso will take him into account as a priority option for the right-wing demarcation.

The Brazilian's contract, however, expires in 2028. For now, the winger does not seem eager to leave immediately, but his regularity is in doubt. Can Real Madrid and Rodrygo reach an agreement before the summer transfer market ends? In the coming weeks, anything can happen.

The 24-year-old striker needs to be a regular starter, something that Madrid does not guarantee him for the next season. Just before a World Cup, the '11' cannot afford this luxury if he wants to be included in Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the 2026 tournament. Arabia will always be an economically viable alternative, but not in sporting terms.
