Roony Bardghji was one of the great absentees from the FC Barcelona list for the league debut against RCD Mallorca. And how could he not be? If the Swedish winger completed a quite promising 25/26 preseason, leaving sensations that would have even earned him a place in the first team's dynamic.

However, his non-inclusion in the squad against the Vermellones was not due to a sporting reason. The former Copenhagen player could not enter the list against the Pirates as he was not registered with a first team license, as happened with Wojciech Szczęsny and Gerard Martín.
Unlike the Polish goalkeeper and the Catalan full-back, in the case of Bardghji there was the option of registering him with a reserve team license. Being under 23 years old, he could have a number from Barça Atlètic and participate normally in the first team. Even so, the club decided not to execute that route, under the idea that the Scandinavian will hardly wear the reserve team's shirt.
Barcelona's decision with Roony Bardghji's registration
This was one of the arguments that led the Blaugrana team to stop Roony's registration with a 'B' team license. The underlying reason? The board closely followed the controversy generated by the Madrid-Mastantuono case, in which the Merengues registered the Argentine with a Castilla license (number 30), even though in practice he is a first team player.
This movement raised alarms because it could violate the regulations of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Specifically, article 125, section 3, states that: "the relationship of fidelity or dependence may not be used as an instrument to evade the spirit of the regulatory provisions or for any purpose other than that which is proper and specific to that kind of situation".
The same article, in its section 4, adds: "any eventual agreement that contravenes this spirit shall be considered as an interpretation in fraud of the law and, therefore, radically null." Given this scenario, the Catalan team has chosen not to take risks with the Swede.
LaLiga's position and Roony's immediate future
Even media such as Diario AS reported that LaLiga itself recommended that Barcelona register Bardghji only with a first team license to avoid controversies and suspicions. As is currently the case with Real Madrid.
The big question now is clear: will Barça manage to register Bardghji before matchday 2 of LaLiga EA Sports 25/26, when the Culés face Levante? For the moment, the only certainty is that the Blaugrana entity is working against the clock on the registration of the winger, while also managing the registrations of Szczęsny and Gerard Martín.
