Pending an official announcement, everything seems to indicate that Swedish right winger Roony Bardghji will arrive in Catalonia next week to undergo a medical and sign his contract as a new FC Barcelona player.
In the last few hours, it has emerged that Barça will pay Copenhagen €2 million in a fixed fee plus variables for his transfer. The Danish team will retain a buy-back option. Initially, the player could get minutes between Barça Atlètic and the first team, and could even join the pre-season tour of Asia.
However, the latest rumors suggest that the skillful 19-year-old winger could also continue his footballing development through a one-year loan, as Barcelona would be interested in having the player adapt to LaLiga before returning.
In this regard, Spanish teams are reportedly not wasting any time, and some have already contacted the Catalan club's offices to express their interest in Bardghji.
Mallorca seeks to loan Roony Bardghji: What is Barça's strategy?
According to the latest reports, one team that would like to have Roony's services for at least one season is RCD Mallorca. The team, managed by Jagoba Arrasate, finished the 2024/25 season in tenth place, with no chance of playing in any European competitions.
Thus, the team from Son Moix, in their quest to build a squad to fight for the top spots next season, are now reportedly keeping an eye on two players linked with Barcelona.
Furthermore, 'Los Bermellones' have also reportedly shown interest in Pablo Torre in the last few hours. The Cantabrian could be transferred to the black and red club, as he is reportedly not in the coaching staff's plans.
Torre's departure could be a transfer with a buy-back option. Initially, there was talk of a possible loan, but Barça wants to continue raising funds, and Pablo would be a good opportunity to do so.
Roony Bardghji, likely backup for Lamine Yamal
However, the club's sporting management will not make any hasty decisions regarding Roony Bardghji. In fact, it will be Hansi Flick himself who decides what to do with the player. Thus, after his signing is announced, the coach will have to evaluate him.
If the coaching staff and sporting management ultimately decide to keep Bardghji at Can Barça for the 2025/26 season, he is expected to be the backup on the right wing.
With this option, Lamine Yamal could get more rest; furthermore, Roony has the necessary talent to adapt to what the head coach is looking for. From a powerful shot and flair to his link-up play, Bardghji is a more than interesting player.
During the 2024/25 season, out of Barça's 60 matches, Lamine played in 55 (52 as a starter), surpassing 4,500 minutes on the pitch. This is why the Catalan club wants to have a game-changing player who can fill in for Yamal when he needs to rest.
