FC Barcelona hopes to recover this summer the 2.5 million euros they paid to Freiburg in 2023 for Noah Darvich. The 18-year-old midfielder has failed to shine in the Barça subsidiary and is aiming to return to Germany in July.
Hansi Flick is counting on the player for the preseason, but understands that Darvich wants to go to a team where he has more options to consolidate in the first division.
And, in Barça, the 'overbooking' of offensive midfielders (Dani Olmo, Fermín López, Gavi) already sentenced Pablo Torre in 24/25 and Noah doesn't want to suffer the same fate.
Dortmund wants to anticipate Bayern in the 'race' for Noah Darvich
In that sense, the latest information points to the interest of Borussia Dortmund in the 18-year-old player. Niko Kovac's team usually bets on young talent and, as they will play Champions League again in 25/26, it would be an ideal destination for the midfielder of the culé subsidiary.
The 'BVB' could close the transfer of Darvich for 2 million euros, a reasonable amount according to the market value and the player's contract. Bayern Munich is also attentive to Noah's future, but sees him more as a reinforcement for their subsidiary.
Last season, Noah only played 750 minutes spread over 25 games (only 8 as a starter) in which he gave a couple of assists. Neither Albert Sánchez nor Sergi Milà managed to bring out his talent in a very difficult campaign for the subsidiary.
The U-19 Euro, last market opportunity for Noah Darvich
Amid rumors about his possible departure from Barça, the 18-year-old player traveled to Romania to play the U-19 Euro with his national team. Noah already won the U-17 European Championship and the World Cup of the same category, but he did not have a good debut with the 'mannschaft' this week in the U-19 tournament.
Germany was thrashed by the Netherlands (0-3), with Darvich playing the 90 minutes. Hanno Balitsch's team is now forced to beat England and Norway to advance from the group stage, in a tournament that is an excellent showcase for the Barça midfielder.
Although he has one more year of contract with the azulgrana team, the Freiburg native hopes to find a place in a big Bundesliga club. Staying another season in the subsidiary, after the relegation to Segunda RFEF, beyond the possibility of entering some call-up with the first team, is not an option for the midfielder.
