Iñaki Peña's departure from FC Barcelona is probably one of the safest scenarios during the current summer market. Both the Blaugrana team and the goalkeeper are pointing in the same direction, that is, to separate their paths, with Como 1907 of Serie A being the possible destination of the '13'.

However, the days go by and the 26-year-old goalkeeper is still wearing the Blaugrana colors, but the main reason for this would be that the club, after registering Joan García, also wants to register the recently renewed Wojciech Szczęsny to have two goalkeepers with guarantees and proceed to finalize Peña's departure.

It is expected that the registration of the goalkeeper who arrived from Espanyol will take place between this Thursday (14) and Friday (August 15) after the Medical Commission of LaLiga validates that Marc-André ter Stegen's absence will be long-term, which will allow the club to use a percentage of his salary for the registration of García.

However, given Barça's imminent debut in LaLiga, next Saturday against RCD Mallorca, the Catalan team does not want to take risks, since, if the Pole is not registered, Iñaki would have to act as second goalkeeper, according to 'SPORT'.

Serie A, a pleasant destination for Iñaki Peña

In the last few hours, rumors have emerged indicating that the 'lariano' team had been interested in the also former Barcelona player, Arnau Tenas, who is in Paris Saint-Germain without any prominence.

Despite this, Como has not initiated formal contacts with the native of Vic, and his possible incorporation has not been considered. Instead, the conversations between Iñaki Peña and the team led by Cesc Fàbregas are progressing at a good pace.

It is worth remembering that in the press conference prior to the Joan Gamper Trophy, the Spanish technical director, when asked about Iñaki Peña, hinted that he likes the goalkeeper from Alicante.

“If there is a market opportunity, we will see and analyze it. We will try to do the best for this club... All great players are welcome, especially those who can understand the idea well", Fàbregas pointed out.

Likewise, the player is excited about the idea of joining a team that is in full growth and, in addition, could ensure him the opportunity to compete for the starting position.

Iñaki Peña's salary stopped the interest of LaLiga clubs

In LaLiga, clubs such as Espanyol, Betis and Celta were interested in the player, who initially preferred to continue his career in his country. However, the main obstacle for this to happen is his “high salary”, considering that he is a substitute goalkeeper.

In this regard, Iñaki Peña would be receiving around 1.5 million euros gross per year, a figure that the aforementioned clubs consider unaffordable.
