FC Barcelona has moved intelligently at the beginning of the 2025/26 transfer market, especially in the departure operation. As of today, it already has a total of five departures:
- Álex Valle: transferred to Como 1907 for 6 M€
- Pablo Torre: transferred to RCD Mallorca for 5 M€
- Ansu Fati: loaned to AS Monaco
- Ander Astralaga: loaned to Granada CF
- Clément Lenglet: free transfer
However, the Azulgrana team still has several cases to resolve. And as they say in the sports newspaper SPORT, Hansi Flick, coach of the culé team, has requested to accelerate the departure operation, with the aim of dispensing with the assets that are no longer in his sports plans and thus not taking them to the pre-season tour of Asia.
It is expected that he will attend this 'tour' of Asian territory with the right payroll. All this, with the aim of giving playing time to the starting unit and, above all, giving opportunities to several young talents from La Masia that the coach decides to incorporate.
1. Oriol Romeu
One of the cases that the Azulgrana sports management hopes to resolve soon is that of the 33-year-old midfielder, Oriol Romeu. The player from Ulldecona has already returned from his loan at Girona, where he did not have a particularly brilliant 2024/25 season, adding 1,805 minutes of play in 31 matches.
Oriol Romeu still has one year left on his contract and his departure through a transfer does not look too viable, so it is not ruled out that Barcelona may bet on giving him a letter of freedom, although they must assume part of the salary that remains pending.
2. Iñaki Peña
Another 'folder' to assess is that of Iñaki Peña. The 26-year-old goalkeeper from Alicante is no longer in Hansi Flick's sports plans, who currently manages a notable 'overbooking' of goalkeepers with Joan García, Marc-André ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczęsny.
Apparently, the youth player will not oppose his departure from the Azulgrana team this summer. A goodbye that could be beneficial for him to finish making the definitive leap and have the continuity he needs in his nascent career. However, the scenarios for his goodbye are varied.
Having a contract with Barça until June 30, 2026, and having several interested clubs both nationally and internationally, a transfer is not ruled out, even for a symbolic amount. However, according to SPORT, this operation would be complex due to the salary issue.
Therefore, according to the aforementioned source, Barcelona would already be negotiating a partial termination, paying part of his emoluments to facilitate his departure to a team that offers him a lower salary.
3. Pau Víctor
Another case to be resolved soon is that of Pau Víctor. However, his departure would be conditioned by the arrival of a left winger, a position in which he can perform —in addition to that of center forward— in the Azulgrana team.
Regarding his possible goodbye in this summer market, Barcelona would be open to all scenarios: from a loan that allows him to add minutes and regularity, to a transfer, for an estimated amount of 10 M€.
4. Andreas Christensen
Finally, one of the most pressing 'folders' is that of Andreas Christensen. The Catalan team, as with the goal, also suffers from an 'overbooking' in defense. Everything indicates that the Dane will leave the club in this summer market.
Barcelona needs to release the overload in the rear, where it currently has five good defenders. Of these, two are not under discussion: Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez. Ronald Araujo also does not seem to be leaving, and to that is added Eric García, who has proven to be a versatile player, capable of acting as a central defender, right back or even midfielder.
With this panorama, the one from Allerød —whose contract expires on June 30, 2026— and who gives the feeling that it will not be renewed, could be transferred this summer. He still retains a good market value and will presumably have suitors willing to bet on his services. His departure would also allow a significant amount of salary to be released.
Christensen, in full physical condition, is a valuable piece due to his quality and technical conditions. However, after spending almost the entire last season plagued by injuries, his physical irregularity reduces his options for a possible stay at the culé club.
