The 2025 summer transfer market has once again left record figures, with the Premier League leading the most expensive operations and Liverpool as the main protagonist. The Anfield club has closed two of the most impactful transfers in recent history: Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
This summer, the Spanish and Italian clubs have not spent large amounts and have not made signings exceeding 70 million. However, it has been Galatasaray who has surprised everyone with a move of 75 'kilos' to keep Victor Osimhen. Â

Liverpool breaks the market with Isak and Wirtz
The current Premier League champion has reinforced its squad with top-level additions. The most talked about has been the arrival of Alexander Isak from Newcastle for 150 million euros, becoming the third most expensive signing in football history, only behind Neymar and Mbappé. The Swedish striker arrives at Anfield after a summer of soap opera and puts Liverpool in the elite of historical operations.
Along with him, the âredsâ secured the German Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for 125 million euros, consolidating a midfield with global projection. In addition, the English club signed Hugo Ekitike for 95 million. In total, Liverpool invested nearly 500 million euros in the summer market, a figure that reflects their ambition to conquer all the titles and an infinite checkbook.
Manchester United seeks to resurge with three elite additions
After one of the most disappointing seasons in its history, Manchester United launched into the market to reinforce its squad. The club signed three players who directly enter the top 10 of most expensive operations: Benjamin Sesko (76.5 million), Bryan Mbeumo (75 million) and Matheus Cunha (74.2 million).
With these arrivals, Ruben Amorim's team aims to regain prominence in the Premier League and return to the Champions League.
Arsenal bets on talent from LaLiga and the Premier League
Mikel Arteta's âgunnersâ also starred in important movements. Their big signing was MartĂn Zubimendi, midfielder from Real Sociedad, who signed for 70 million euros. In addition, they signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for 69 million, seeking to give a competitive leap that brings them closer to the league title and the Champions League.
Newcastle, Galatasaray and Bayern complete the list
Newcastle responded to Isak's departure with the incorporation of Nick Woltemade, striker from Stuttgart, in exchange for 85 million euros. The German will debut in the Champions League against FĂștbol Club Barcelona, a debut of maximum demand.
Outside of England there were also important movements. Galatasaray made history in Turkey by signing Victor Osimhen for 75 million, the largest investment in Ottoman football. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich secured the Colombian Luis DĂaz from Liverpool, also for 75 million euros.
The summer of 2025 confirmed the economic dominance of the Premier League in the global market, although clubs like Bayern and Galatasaray also demonstrated the ability to compete for big names.
