Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona squad returned to work on Monday with good news. Andreas Christensen, absent in the last three matches due to physical problems, returned to training with the group and will be available for the visit to Bruges, this Wednesday, November 5 at 9:00 p.m. for matchday 4 of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League 2025/26.

The Dane was absent against Olympiacos due to a viral condition and also missed the Clásico due to discomfort in his right calf. The defender was unable to train normally last week, and Hansi Flick, as a precaution, gave him rest against Elche. With this, Barça had 6 casualties due to injury against the Elche team.

The list of absentees, however, will be reduced to 5 players for Matchday 4 of the Champions League. Christensen has accumulated 338 minutes of action in 9 matches (3 as a starter) this season. Although he remains a regular substitute, Flick considers him a key piece for his rotation plan.

Christensen would play again against Brugge

Barring any surprises, Pau Cubarsí will return to the center of defense as Eric García's partner on Wednesday, with Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen waiting for their opportunity on the bench. The 'charrúa' did not have a good day in his return to the lineup against Elche, while the Dane has not been in the starting XI since September 28, against Real Sociedad.

However, the '15' could add minutes in the second half, as he did against Newcastle (20') and PSG (4'). When he has been available, the Lillerod native has almost always seen action. So far this season, he only didn't play against Mallorca and Valencia. Prior to his physical problems, he had entered in the 63rd minute against Girona.

Thus, Barça will go to Bruges with 5 confirmed injury absences. Joan García and Raphinha should return after the November break, while Pedri González is expected to return at the end of the month or the beginning of December. Ter Stegen is also aiming for next month to be medically cleared, and Gavi will be out, at least, until February 2026.

Barcelona will travel to Bruges on Tuesday afternoon

For matchday 4 of the Champions League, Barcelona will modify their work plan. Unlike the match against Newcastle, the team will train at the Ciutat Esportiva in St. Joan Despí before traveling. In other words, the Blaugrana will not train at the opponent's stadium the day before the match, as they did on their visit to St. James' Park.

Tuesday's training session is scheduled for 11:00 AM. After lunch, the squad and coaching staff will travel to Belgium. Once at the Jan Breydel stadium, they will inspect the field and hold the press conference prior to the match scheduled for Wednesday at 9:00 PM CEST.

The club will return to Catalonia right after the match, having a day of rest on Thursday. On Friday, at 11:00 a.m., Barça will hold an open training session at the Spotify Camp Nou, in preparation for the match against Celta at Balaídos next Sunday. 21,000 culés will be able to accompany the team in their first return to the culé temple since May 2023.
