Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund climbed positions in the Champions League standings. On Tuesday, the English and German teams thrashed Barça and Villarreal at home, respectively

FC Barcelona and Manchester City fell on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26. In London, the Catalan team was thrashed by Chelsea (3-0) on a day to forget for Spanish clubs. Leverkusen and Union Saint-Gilloise pulled off surprises away from home

The big surprise of matchday 5, so far, was delivered by Bayer Leverkusen. The Germans surprised a Manchester City that rested several of its stars (0-2) and, ultimately, fell at home, complicating their aspirations of staying in the TOP-8. Alejandro Grimaldo and Patrick Schick scored the goals for the German team, which with the victory reaches 8 points.

City remains in the upper part of the standings, but in the next matchday they will visit Real Madrid. The other upset on Tuesday was by Union Saint-Gilloise.
