Another day to forget for Spanish clubs in Champions

At the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid suffered their second defeat in the group stage and their second consecutive at home, this time squandering a minimal lead against Manchester City (1-2). Rodrygo put the Whites ahead in the 28th minute, but Nico O'Reilly equalized in the 35th. Before halftime, in the 43rd minute, a penalty from Erling Haaland made the difference in favor of the English.
Villarreal, for their part, lost at home to Copenhagen (2-3) to remain second to last and seal their elimination after a disappointing group stage. A goal from Cornelius in the 90th minute made the difference in favor of the Danes, who now move up to 24th place and enter the playoff zone.
More decorous was the performance of Athletic, who salvaged a draw at San Mamés against PSG (0-0). The point, however, is of little use to the Basques, who now occupy 28th place in the table, although only 2 points behind Copenhagen. PSG, on the other hand, remains third with 13 units, very close to securing their direct pass to the round of 16
