Hansi Flick assessed FC Barcelona's thrashing of Olympiacos (6-1), a match that the Barça team ended up resolving with four goals in the last 22 minutes, with the Greeks already at a numerical disadvantage. In the post-match press conference, the German coach referred to the refereeing decisions that, according to José Luis Mendilivar, harmed the Greek team.
"It's not my problem (the Basque's complaints). I see it differently, but I'm not going to get into it. I don't know how the decisions have changed the game. We must play on the field, there are situations for and against. I understand that he is angry," argued the Barça coach regarding the Basque coach's position.
Mendilivar harshly criticized the decisions of Urs Schnyder (main referee) and Fedayi San (VAR) in the Barça-Olympiacos match. The Greeks had returned to the game thanks to a penalty scored by Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi in the 53rd minute, but they gave up after the expulsion of Argentinian Santiago Hezze, for a double yellow card, and a penalty by goalkeeper Tzolakis on Marcus Rashford.
Both decisions were heavily protested by the visiting bench. "The second yellow (to Hezzze) is incomprehensible. And, to top it off, the penalty. In these fields they don't give you anything, but today they have taken from us," said the Olympiacos coach.
Flick Praises Fermín and Rashford
On the other hand, Hansi Flick praised Fermín López for his great match against Olympiacos. The '16' returned to the starting XI with a 'hat-trick', his first with the Barça jersey. "His performance was sensational. Three goals, the first two very important," the coach began by saying.
In that sense, he added: "He has great potential, now his dynamic will be different, he positions himself well... He scores, he runs... He's very complete," he commented on the player from Huelva. He also highlighted Rashford's performance, who closed the rout with a double.
"What I expect from him, he gives one hundred percent. For me, it's important to have him. He's fast with the ball, combines well, is good in front of the area... As he gains confidence and plays more with his teammates, he will get even better," Flick pointed out.
"At the beginning of the match we had some problems but we deserved the victory. Every goal and every victory is important"

Good Sensations with Lamine Yamal and Expectations for the Clásico
Furthermore, the German coach assured that Lamine Yamal is in very good physical condition. The player from Mataró scored a penalty, but was replaced in the 75th minute. In that sense, Flick is confident that he will have the '10' at full strength in the Clásico next Sunday.
"Last year he performed very well in the big games and I have no doubt that he will do it again. In the big games he always stood out last year, there's no problem," he added regarding Lamine.
Regarding the visit to Real Madrid, the Barça coach hopes to recover Raphinha and Ferran Torres. In addition, he is confident in maintaining the dominance of the previous season (4 out of 4 victories), although he understands that the context is different.
"We are in a different situation, but I am optimistic because of last season's campaign and because I see us as capable. Maybe we'll get some players back. We have time to rest and prepare for the match."
