Hansi Flick assessed FC Barcelona's thrashing of Olympiacos (6-1), a match that the Barça team ended up resolving with four goals in the last 22 minutes, with the Greeks already at a numerical disadvantage. In the post-match press conference, the German coach referred to the refereeing decisions that, according to José Luis Mendilivar, harmed the Greek team.

"It's not my problem (the Basque's complaints). I see it differently, but I'm not going to get into it. I don't know how the decisions have changed the game. We must play on the field, there are situations for and against. I understand that he is angry," argued the Barça coach regarding the Basque coach's position.

Mendilivar harshly criticized the decisions of Urs Schnyder (main referee) and Fedayi San (VAR) in the Barça-Olympiacos match. The Greeks had returned to the game thanks to a penalty scored by Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi in the 53rd minute, but they gave up after the expulsion of Argentinian Santiago Hezze, for a double yellow card, and a penalty by goalkeeper Tzolakis on Marcus Rashford.
