FC Barcelona confirmed Spotify Camp Nou as the venue for the Champions League Matchday 6 game against Eintracht. UEFA will send a delegation on November 29 to inspect the stadium

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The UEFA Champions League will return to the Spotify Camp Nou on December 9. The board of directors of FC Barcelona confirmed, through a statement, the Stadium as the venue for the match against Eintracht Frankfurt (21:00 CEST), corresponding to matchday 6 of the league phase. This is after UEFA approved a special permit for Barça to change its venue during the group stage.

According to Champions League regulations, clubs must maintain a single venue during the dispute of the same phase. However, as the Camp Nou has been undergoing renovations, the highest body in European football gave the 'Ok' to the move to Montjuïc, Barça's official stadium for the last two seasons.

In that sense, Joan Laporta's approach to Aleksander Ceferin (UEFA president) and Nassr Al-Khelaïfi (ECA president) was key to obtaining this license. Once the permits to open the Lateral stand were obtained, and with it, to conclude phase 1B, Barça will have no problem playing at home with a capacity for 45,401 spectators.

Barça still needs to meet a key requirement to play Champions League at Camp Nou

In the coming days, however, the club must resolve the segmentation of visiting fans, a fundamental requirement to compete in European competitions at Les Corts. Against Athletic, next Saturday, it was not possible to enable a sector of the Lateral stand to receive the Basque fans.

The following week, on Saturday the 29th against Alavés, this problem must be resolved before the visit of the UEFA delegates. If there were any significant deficiencies at the Spotify Camp Nou, Hansi Flick's team would be forced to return to Montjuïc for the match against Eintracht.

Subsequently, Barça will have one more home game in the league phase. This corresponds to matchday 8, against **Copenhagen** on January 28 (9:00 PM CEST). That match could be key to resolving direct qualification for the round of 16, provided that the Catalans manage to get into the TOP-8 of the general standings.

Upcoming home matches for Barça in the Champions League:

  1. Tuesday, December 09, 2025, matchday 6: vs Eintracht Frankfurt (21:00 CEST)

  2. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, matchday 8: vs Copenhagen (21:00 CEST).

Champions League will return to Spotify Camp Nou 1,140 days later

The last time Barcelona played a Champions League match at Spotify Camp Nou was **on October 26, 2022, against Bayern Munich**. Since then, 1,140 days and a little over three years will have passed until the match against Eintracht.

In the match against the Bavarians, the team then managed by Xavi Hernández was thrashed (0-3) with goals from Sadio Mané, Choupo-Mouting, and Benjamin Pavard. The Catalans arrived at matchday 5 of that Champions League already eliminated in a group that also included Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen

In 23/24 and 24/25, the Catalans played a total of 14 Champions League matches at Montjuïc, with a record of 10 wins, 2 draws (Atalanta and Inter), and a couple of losses (both against Paris Saint-Germain).

For the match against Eintracht, the Barça board reminds that, "for all members who have purchased the 2025/26 Season Ticket", this match is already included in their season ticket. In the coming days, the club will issue all the details regarding ticket sales and distribution.
