PSG won the first Champions League in its history with a historic thrashing of Inter Milan (5-0). Luis Enrique's team were infinitely superior, with Dembélé and Doué as key figures

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain crushed Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich (5-0), in a historic exhibition by Luis Enrique's team to give the Parisian team their first 'big-eared' trophy and complete the treble (Ligue 1, French Cup and Champions League).

After billions of euros wasted on reinforcements, the administration of the Qatari emirate headed by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has finally managed to reign in Europe after 14 years of failures.

The Gauls overwhelmed the 'nerazzurri' with a compact 4-3-3, without fixed references in the center of the field and the edge of the area thanks to the mobility of Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz and Joao Neves in midfield, as well as the offensive trident formed by Kvaratskhelia, Doué and Dembélé.

Luis Enrique promised to build a better team without Kylian Mbappé and the Asturian delivered in spades. PSG only won one of their first four league games, but recovered from a very tough schedule and are European champions without their main star, who to top it off has finished his first year at Real Madrid without major titles.

Immaculate first half from a far superior PSG

Paris did not take long to translate their superiority on the field into the score. Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute after completing a great triangulation between Vitinha and Desiré Doué, the great figure of the first half. The Frenchman broke through the Inter defense and received free on the right, assisting Hakimi enabled by Dimarco. The Moroccan only had to push it into the goal and did not celebrate the goal for his 'nerazzurri' past.

Eight minutes later, after an Inter throw-in near the corner, PSG put together a lethal counter-attack that Doué finished off with a powerful left-footed shot. Ousmane Dembélé received on the right and waited for the right moment to enable his teammate. Again, Dimarco came out in the photo of the goal, arriving late to mark the '14' and with a deflection that ended up leaving Sommer without options.

With the 2-0, PSG maintained mobility in attack, avoiding giving fixed references to a totally confused Italian team. Although the 'nerazzurri' generated a couple of clear chances from above, the French were close to the third before the break. However, 'Dembouz' and Kvaratskhelia were not fine in the definition.

Incredible 'manita' from PSG to Inter, unique in the history of the Champions League final

After the break, the Georgian had another couple of opportunities, both wasted with very high shots. Simone Inzaghi moved the bench to seek the reaction of a team clearly surpassed from the start with the entry of Bisseck and Zalewski for Pavard and Dimarco, both with a night to forget in Munich.

As the minutes passed, Inter regained control of the center of the field, but did not find clarity to hurt the goal of a very safe Donnarumma throughout the match. Paris, on the other hand, fell back to try to do damage on the counter-attack, taking advantage of the spaces conceded by a 'nerazzurri' team forced to attack.

Mkhitaryan and Bisseck (injured) also left their place on the field to Carlos Augusto and Darmian. Just after the double change, with the Italians trying to readjust, Vitinha and Dembélé put together a magical play that ended in a filtered pass from the Portuguese for the MVP of the final, Doué, who shot Sommer with a tight shot to settle the match in 63 minutes.

With Inter totally broken in the background, 'Dembouz', in a great match, assisted Kvaratskhelia in the 73rd minute to put the fourth and an indisputable thrashing tint to the score. This time, the former Napoli player did not fail in the definition, with a low left-footed shot in the one-on-one against Sommer. For more 'nerazzurri' agony, Senny Mayulu made the fifth in the 86th minute, culminating another great collective action.

For the first time in the history of the Champions League/European Cup, a team wins a final by a difference of more than four goals. Paris Saint-Germain is the king of Europe, without discussion, and the best club in the world today. Congratulations to Luis Enrique, who wins his second Champions League after the one obtained a decade ago in Berlin with Barça.
