Porto consummated Atlético de Madrid's disastrous campaign in the Champions League. Diego Simeone's men clearly fell (2-1) in a game that could well have ended in a landslide and that, combined with Leverkusen's draw, leaves them out of everything
The Athletic of Madrid completed a bochornosa performance in the Group B of the UEFA Champions League with a very hard defeat in Portugal in front of the Port wine (2-1). The group directed by Sérgio Conceiçãor imposed with authority on the 'rojiblancos' with so many of Mehdi Taremi and Stephen Eustáquio in the first part of a party that, of not being by the multiple cut across of Jan Oblak, would have finished in a goleada of scandal.
The venues played the leadership of the group and went out to look for the party from the beginning. Taking advantage of the spaces of an unknown defence 'colchonera', a pass filtered of the side Pepê found to Evanílson, the one who of first enabled to Taremi to open the marker when hardly they went 5 minutes of game. The so much, in place to wake up to the Atleti, sharpened his problems backwards and the Carry did not take in going back to punish to the visitors.
In the 24', an error of Stefan Savic allowed to Galeno desbordar to pleasure by right and assist to Stephen Eustáquio, the one who with a powerful finish raso put the 2-0 in front of the incredulity of Diego Simeone the one who seems to have lost the control of the staff. Oblak Avoided greater evils with a pair of interventions before the rest, but in the second part the dynamics kept and, of not being by the guardameta esloveno, at least three goals more would have fallen to the sack 'rojiblanco'.
In the 90+5', a goal against of the defender Iván Marcano put the drama in the Dragãor, but there was not time for miracles. With the defeat, the Athletic finish last of the group with 5, points, the same that the Leverkusen, but insufficient for losing in the direct clash in front of the group of the aspirins (2-0 in the Bay Sand, 2-2 in Wanda Metropolitan). A ridiculous historical in a group that seemed quite affordable.
To the Lewerkusen the sufficed the tie to go in in the UEL
At the same time, Bayer Leverkusen and Witches completed in Germany the disaster 'colchonero'. Belgian and germanos did not happen of the tie without goals in a party in which the stops of Simon Mignolet avoided the triumph of the ones of Xavi Alonso, but no his classification to the 'playoff' of the Europe League. The Witches, by his part, finish second of a group in which it went the first in accessing to the eighth of final of Champions thanks to the inspiration of a Port wine that won four parties in row after falling in the two first days.
