FC Barcelona did their homework at home, beating the weak Young Boys (4-0). Hansi Flick's men regain ground in the general classification of the league phase

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The second day of the UEFA Champions League league phase began this Tuesday with several big results. FC Barcelona recovered from the defeat against Monaco with a solid win against Young Boys (5-0) that allows Hansi Flick's team to remain in the play-off places for the round of 16. The Swiss team barely resisted Barça in Montjuïc and is already bottom of the general classification.

The culés, for their part, momentarily rise to tenth place with 3 points and a goal difference of +4. Robert Lewandowski (double), Raphinha and Iñigo Martínez got wet in the first Champions League match at home, with the Brazilian and the Basque also adding an assist each. Like Barça, PSV Eindhoven failed to recover from their fall on matchday 1 at Juventus (3-1) and drew at home against Sporting CP (1-1). The Portuguese (7) remain in the direct classification zone with 4 points and the Dutch (23) barely add 1 point, but remain in the play off zone.

Dortmund, Brest and Leverkusen lead the general classification

The top zone of the classification has Borussia Dortmund, Stade Brest and Bayer Leverkusen as leaders with 6 points. The Germans crushed Cletic Glasgow (6-1) led by a great Karim Adeyemi (he scored a hat trick), while the French team also won with authority against RB Salzburg (0-4). Leverkusen suffered more of the score at home against Milan (1-0), but added their second win in a row.

Others who scored on the day were Manchester City (0-4 against Slovan Bratislava) and Inter Milan (4-0 against Red Star). 'Cityzens' and 'nerazzurris' remain in the direct qualification zone (fourth and fifth, respectively), while Sparta Prague, who tied in Germany against Stüttgart (1-1) remains sixth. In the other duel on Tuesday, Arsenal defeated Luis Enrique's Paris Saint-Germain at home (2-0). With this result, the Gunners rose to eighth place and PSG dropped to eighteenth place.

This Wednesday the schedule for matchday 2 will be completed, starting with Shakhtar-Atalanta and Girona-Feyenoord. The visits of Atlético and Real Madrid to Benfica and Lille, respectively, stand out on the date, while Barça's next rival, Bayern Munich, will go to London to face Aston Villa. Leipzig-Juventus, Liverpool-Bologna, Sturm Graz-Bruges and Dinamo Zagreb-Monaco will complete the day.
