Robert Lewandowski continues to be on fire with FC Barcelona in 2024/25. This Wednesday, the Pole added a new double against Crvena Zvezda (2-5) to lead the Champions League scoring table

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona beat Crvena Zvezda (2-5) on Wednesday in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League league phase in another fruitful night for Robert Lewandowski. The Pole reached 19 goals in 2024/25 and reached the lead in goals in the top European competition (5) thanks to the double scored in Belgrade, his fifth of the season.

The experienced forward had already scored twice against Young Boys (5-0) and, against the Serbian team, he did not fail in his usual appointment with the goal, after 'fasting' last weekend in the Catalan derby. In the 43rd minute, the '9' broke the partial tie by capturing a rebound off the crossbar, after Raphinha's shot, to push the ball into the goal, fully enabled.

'Lewy''s goal, on the stroke of half-time, was a knockout blow for a Red Star team that, in the second half, lowered its arms much faster than expected after a fairly correct first half by Vladan Milojevic's team. In the 53rd minute, Robert increased the difference, again pushing the ball completely unmarked, this time taking advantage of a great pass from the right by Jules Koundé.

Lewandowski, Pichichi in LaLiga and Champions League

Thanks to his two goals in Belgrade, Lewandowski reached 5 goals in 4 Champions League games, which equaled the line of Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Raphinha, who also 'wet' against the Serbians, and the fashion forward in Europe, Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP). The Swede climbed to the top of the scoring charts thanks to his hat-trick against Manchester City. Kane, for his part, went without scoring against Benfica (0-0).

For Barça's '9', there are already 19 goals in 16 games this season, 14 of them in the League (in 12 games) and 5 in the Champions League. The one from Warsaw has returned to his best version under the command of Hansi Flick and, in the top European competition, he reached 99 goals in 124 official appearances. As a culé, 'Lewy' has 13 goals in 17 games in the tournament.
