The Copa draw left historic pairings, with the entry of the four Supercopa teams. Real Madrid, Barça, Atlético, and Athletic now know their single-leg opponents
The 2025/26 Copa del Rey has already set up its first major round with the entry of the four teams qualified for the Spanish Super Cup. The draw held this Tuesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas left pairings of enormous appeal and several unprecedented duels that will once again test the magic of the tournament. The ties will be played in a single-match format and always at the stadium of the lower-category team.
From the pots came matchups such as CF Talavera–Real Madrid, Guadalajara–FC Barcelona, Atlético Baleares–Atlético de Madrid, and Ourense–Athletic Club, the four clashes involving the participants of the next Super Cup. This will be one of the major novelties of this round, which from this season onwards no longer applies geographic proximity criteria for pairings.
