Hansi Flick's Barça already has 2 titles in the 24-25 season, both against Real Madrid: the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. The team already has 40 victories in 53 matches
FC Barcelona won its 32nd Copa del Rey title on Saturday and the second of Hansi Flick's cycle. The Azulgrana team managed to defeat Real Madrid in extra time (3-2), coming back from a 1-2 score with 13 minutes left.
In their 53rd match of the season, Barça went for the victory from the start and went into halftime with a minimal lead, thanks to a great goal by Pedri. The 'Culés' deserved a bigger difference, but Courtois' saves and the favors from De Burgos Bengoetxea kept the 'Merengues' alive.
In the second half, the 'Blancos' took the lead with goals from Mbappé and Tchouaméni. When Barça was having the worst time, Ferran Torres appeared, the tournament's top scorer with 6 goals, to send the match into extra time, although a penalty by Rüdiger on the '7' not sanctioned by the referees could well have resolved the final in regulation time.
Koundé's great goal propels Barça towards the treble
In the end, in extra time, Jules Koundé was the hero of a Barça that reached 40 victories in the 24-25 season to win its second title of the year. A victory, moreover, with an enormous psychological weight in the face of the fight for the treble. With LaLiga on track (4 points ahead of Madrid with 5 matchdays and a Clásico at Montjuïc to play), the 'Culés' will now go for everything in the Champions League.
In that sense, the Copa final is a brutal morale boost ahead of the tie against an Inter Milan that is going through a critical moment. The 'Nerazzurri' were eliminated from the Coppa Italia this week and have lost the lead in Serie A. Even so, they are still a very dangerous opponent.
Hansi Flick: 2 finals and 2 titles against Real Madrid
The best thing about Flick's team's two consecrations is that both have been against Real Madrid. In the Super Cup, the Azulgrana team won by a landslide (2-5) thanks to goals from Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde and Raphinha (double).
The full-back and the '9' were absent in La Cartuja, but the team responded again in a Copa final full of refereeing controversies. Pedri, Ferran Torres and Jules Koundé gave the victory to Barça (3-2) in another epic comeback, this time consummated in extra time.
In this way, Flick's balance in Clásicos is perfect: 3 victories in 3 presentations, with 12 goals in favor and only 4 against. In addition, there is still matchday 35 of LaLiga to be played in Montjuïc, where the 'Culés' could seal their third title of the season, again against a Madrid in free fall.
With this, Hansi can surpass what Guardiola did in his first 4 Clásicos. The Santpedor native had 4 victories, with 11 goals in favor and 2 against, but did not win any final against Madrid in his first two seasons. In fact, the 'Blancos' finally managed to beat Pep's Barça in their first final, in the 2010-11 Copa del Rey (1-0).
Flick's Barça in Clásicos:
- Matches: 3
- Victories: 3
- Goals in favor: 12
- Goals against: 4
- Finals won: 2 out of 2
Flick's numbers at Barça are beyond dispute

For the moment, the coach maintains a victory percentage of 75.47%, after achieving 40 wins in 53 matches this season. In that period, Barça maintains an impressive goal difference of +95, thanks to a total of 155 goals (2.92 per match) and conceding 58 (1.09).
In that sense, Flick maintains the second best win percentage among Azulgrana coaches, only surpassed by Luis Enrique. The Asturian achieved 138 wins in 181 presentations (76%) between 2014 and 2017, winning 8 titles in 3 seasons.
Counting the draws, the current Azulgrana coach, for the moment, has achieved 78.85% of the points in dispute, with only 6 draws and 7 defeats in the 24-25 season. Barça has only lost a couple of matches in the Champions League (Monaco and Dortmund), in addition to another 5 duels in the first round of LaLiga.

Flick, happy for the consecration in the Cup and with his sights set on LaLiga and the Champions League
After the match, the Azulgrana coach once again expressed his pride in the work done by the squad. "When I saw the celebration it was incredible and they deserve it, I am very happy. It is a great victory. Koundé saved two Madrid chances and scored the goal. It was incredible," the coach began by saying.
In that sense, he valued the good atmosphere within the club since the beginning of the season, key to having the necessary confidence to work without headaches. "I was surprised how they welcomed me from the first day and I have always been very well and very happy. We are all doing our best to be successful. Everyone strives to improve more and more."
Similarly, Flick left the door open to an end of the season that promises to be historic, with the achievement of another League and the Champions League. "There are two matches left to reach the final in the Champions League, but today has been fantastic. I am very happy to be able to celebrate with them a huge victory against Real Madrid, this gives us confidence to win more," he said.
