Lamine Yamal shines in the Cup final, provides two assists, and celebrates a new title against Real Madrid with euphoria!

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Lamine Yamal was one of the key players for FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final. Once again against Real Madrid (3-2), the 17-year-old winger was a nightmare for the 'merengue' defense, directly involved in two of the three 'culé' goals.

After the match, amidst the celebrations, the youngster was euphoric about winning his first major trophy of the season, following the Spanish Super Cup victory in January, also against Real Madrid, revealing a conversation with Ronald Araujo before the match.

"I told Ronald that if they scored one goal, it didn't matter, if they scored two, it didn't matter either. They can't beat us this year, and it has been proven," said the player from Mataró. The '19' provided two of Barça's goals and came very close to scoring in the second half, but a save by Courtois prevented what would have been his 15th goal of the season.

Lamine Yamal doesn't stop: 22 assists and 34 goal involvements

For the youngster, this is his second official title with Barça and the third of a meteoric career that has already seen him lift a European Championship with Spain. The winger could, before reaching adulthood, win a treble as a 'culé', something unprecedented in football history.

Statistically, his assist double in the final allows Lamine to reach 22 assists in the season, equaling Raphinha as the team's top assist provider. In addition, the player from Rocafonda has 14 goals and 34 direct goal involvements.

Only Raphinha (30 goals and 22 assists) and Robert Lewandowski (40 goals and 3 assists) have been involved in more goals than the '19' this season. In the Cup final, without the Pole and with the Brazilian being quite erratic, Yamal responded with another superb performance.

In total, the 'LRL' already has 64 goals and 47 assists, which translates to 111 goals produced, a legendary trident that is already on par with the mythical 'MSN'. Can Barça repeat the 2015 treble with their new trident?

Yamal's first assist came in the 28th minute. The youngster received a long ball from Pedri on the right, after a great recovery by Cubarsí. Seeing himself surrounded and without a shooting angle, the '19' controlled the ball and attracted the attention of up to four opponents.

However, instead of attempting a quick exit, Lamine patiently waited, perceiving Pedri's run, who arrived at the edge of the area completely alone thanks to the space freed up by the winger. Seeing that his teammate was free, he played a pass to the middle that the Canary Islander finished first time, placing the ball in the top corner, impossible for Courtois.

Then, in the 77th minute, the player from Mataró rubbed the lamp again with another filtered pass for Ferran Torres. The winger noticed the diagonal run of the 'Shark', who, after outpacing Rüdiger, took advantage of Courtois' poor positioning to leave him stranded and finish with a right-footed shot into an empty net.

Two great goals orchestrated by the 17-year-old player that allowed Barcelona to force extra time after being against the ropes against a Madrid clearly favored by the refereeing, thanks to two red cards forgiven, two penalties not reviewed by VAR, and the presence of a Kylian Mbappé who should have been suspended.
