The institutional messages of Athletic Club, when questioning Nico Williams' "attitude" and "commitment" in the press, have sown doubts that have ended up legitimizing the harassment against the footballer. These veiled criticisms, launched from the press room itself, acted as flames for the radicals who desecrated the mural.

The Bilbao press, more focused on the spectacle than on the analysis, has amplified and dramatized each twist of the controversy, turning Williams' figure into an easy target for public opinion.
