FC Barcelona has received the return to the training of the Andreas Christensen group, who was injured since last January and could be close to receiving the medical discharge

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Good news for FC Barcelona. The blaugrana team, which returned to training this Thursday after a day off granted to the squad following the victory against Rayo Vallecano (1-0), has seen the return to group training of one of the players who was on the injured list: Andreas Christensen.

It is worth remembering that the Danish defender, who has had physical issues this season, suffered a soleus muscle injury in his right leg on January 28, with an estimated recovery time of three weeks. This is the second physical setback for the '15' this season, following the left Achilles tendinopathy that kept him out of competition for at least four months.

Now, Andreas Christensen has been able to train with the group in preparation for FC Barcelona's next match on Saturday, February 22, when the team will face UD Las Palmas at the Estadio de Gran Canaria (21:00/Movistar+). However, it remains to be seen if the Danish player, who has just reintegrated into group training, will receive medical clearance to be included in the squad against the Canarian team.

This situation seems somewhat uncertain, as the player from Allerød only partially participated in the group training session. Therefore, Christensen's presence in the list of players for the UD Las Palmas match will depend on how the former Chelsea player feels.

The issue surrounding Andreas Christensen's return to Barcelona's squad

It is important to note that FC Barcelona is handling Andreas Christensen's recovery with caution. Therefore, his return to the squad could likely happen in the Copa del Rey match against Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano on the upcoming Tuesday, February 25, or in the LaLiga EA Sports match on March 1 against Real Sociedad.

However, it is important to consider that the player list must contain a maximum of 23 players according to the regulations, which could complicate Andreas Christensen's inclusion in the upcoming lists. It should be noted that FC Barcelona already has a practically established core of 23 players, a situation that often leads to players like Ansu Fati being left out of the squad, potentially complicating the situation for the Danish player, especially considering that the Catalan team has up to five defenders in its roster.
