Some Barça players took advantage of their day off to train at the Ciutat Esportiva. The Azulgrana team must play the Gamper before debuting in LaLiga on August 16
The players of FC Barcelona already have a clear objective: the start of LaLiga 2025/26. However, before the first league match, the Catalan team has another pending commitment, which in principle will serve to finish detecting any tactical errors.
After finishing the Asian tour, where they played three matches, in which they scored 15 goals, highlighting their offensive power, they must now face Como 1907 for the usual Joan Gamper Trophy match next Sunday.
Thus, after enjoying two days of rest upon their return to Barcelona, the players face a few days marked by an intense training schedule.
A double training session is scheduled for this Thursday, while the same is expected for Saturday. There is no more rest before the Gamper, as the squad will also train on Friday at 09:30 in the morning.
The bills from Barca's preseason
In this sense, Íñigo Martínez only played the first preseason match against Vissel Kobe because he was carrying discomfort, while Fermín López and Ferran Torres did not play the last match of the tour against Daegu FC, the '16', due to a blow to the knee and the 'Shark' due to an overload.
However, neither the midfielder nor the forward were interested in waiting and resting. Both players were at the Ciutat Esportiva this Wednesday to train individually. Other players such as Andreas Christensen, Gavi, Oriol Romeu, Roony Bardghji and Raphinha also did the same.
Also, another of the players who finished the preparation matches touched is Pau Cubarsí. Although coach Hansi Flick pointed out in a press conference that it is only a blow without major severity.
Mallorca, Barça's first rival at the start of the season
In this order of ideas, Barça will begin their journey in the new LaLiga season next Saturday, August 16, with a duel against RCD Mallorca at the Son Moix stadium. The match is scheduled for 19:30 hours and will mark the official return of the Azulgrana team to the competition after almost three months of inactivity.
The squad is practically closed, pending the departures of Iñaki Peña and Oriol Romeu. In addition, everything seems to indicate that Christensen, who was also expected to leave the club, will end up staying for the 2025/26 season.
It should be noted that the Azulgrana team is working to register Joan García, Marcus Rashford, Gerard Martín, Roony Bardghji and the recently renewed Wojciech Szczęsny before the start of the domestic competition.
