Now that Barca will not be able to play the Gamper at the Camp Nou, the club could return to the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium and exploit the VIP seats, which would help to enter the 1:1 rule

After the City Council's refusal to grant FC Barcelona the First Occupation License for the Spotify Camp Nou, due to which the team will not be able to play the Joan Gamper Trophy at the venue on August 10, the plans of the Catalan entity have been disrupted.

In this sense, the Blaugrana team would already be working with the intention of returning to the Estadi for September 13 or 14, where they will have to face Valencia CF as locals.

However, due to the change of course that the City Council's denial meant, within Barça, according to recent information, they do not hide the possibility of returning to the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium during the first phase of the 2025/26 season, and taking advantage of the premium areas that would help to enter the 1:1 rule.

Barça's plan with VIP seats if they return to Montjuïc

One of the key points in Barcelona's possible return to the Olympic Stadium focuses on the inclusion —or not— of a strategic operation in the audit report corresponding to the 2024/25 financial year, which the Crowe firm must deliver to the Blaugrana entity at the beginning of August.

Thus, the audit could contemplate the assignment agreement for the exploitation of 475 VIP seats already built in the Spotify Camp Nou, valued at 100 million euros.

According to sources linked to the operation, the financial distribution would be assumed between Fortia Advisor Limited (30 million) and New Era Visionary Group (70 million), two entities that have bet on the Catalan club's premium project.

That is why, given the possibility that the return to the Camp Nou will not materialize in September, if the City Council remains resistant to granting the First Occupation License, the Blaugrana institution is already contemplating an alternative plan.

Barça is considering the option of commercially exploiting the 475 VIP locations in the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, as a contingency measure to safeguard the economic return of its premium areas.

The validation of the Crowe report, key to complying with the 1:1 rule at Barça

From Barça are confident that there will be no problems to fully enter the 1:1 rule that LaLiga requires of clubs to be able to operate normally during the transfer market.

The Barcelona team hopes that, once the employers validate the Crowe auditor's report, they will be able to speed up the registrations and sign the players they want.

Despite the administrative setbacks, Barcelona maintains the objective of returning to the Spotify Camp Nou in November. The entity is confident that the conditions will align to reopen the doors of the mythical stadium and provide a better VIP experience.
